    Hi TimM,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Regarding the issue where the language dropdown shows Español but the text doesn’t change even after deleting and re-adding translations, here’s what you can check and try:

    1. Ensure that the translations are properly saved and published in your form's multilingual settings.

    2. Clear your browser cache or try accessing the form in an incognito/private window to rule out cached content causing the issue.

    3. Verify that the language dropdown is correctly linked to the translation files and that the form fields have translations available for Español.

    4. Test the direct URL with the language parameter again to confirm if the language switch works outside the dropdown.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be related to a bug or a specific setting in your form. Please provide any additional details or screenshots if possible.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi TimM,

Since you have already tried deleting and re-adding translations and tested in incognito mode without success, the issue might be more specific to your form settings or a possible bug.

To further assist you, could you please provide a screenshot of your form's multilingual settings and the language dropdown? Also, if you can share the exact URL you are using to test the language switch, that would be helpful.

Once we have these details, we can look deeper into the issue and provide a more targeted solution.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi timoaangelica,

Thanks for using Jotform. I checked your form and noticed that while you added a new language, the translations for each field weren’t added. Here’s a screenshot of my result:

Multilingual Forms: Language dropdown shows Español but text does not update after translation changes Image 1 Screenshot 60 It's easy to translate an existing form into another language. Let me walk you through it:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder, and in the orange (or blue in Smart PDF forms) navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.

    2. Click on Show More Options, scroll down to the Form Languages section, and click on Edit.

    3. In the Form Language section, click on the Downward Arrow icon and select your form's main language.

    4. In the Translations section, click on Add Language, and select the language you want it translated to.

    5. Click on Add under the Dropdown menu, and translate the fields that haven't been automatically translated into the target language.

    6. Then, click on the Form Warnings tab to see/edit any untranslated fields or edit the translated fields. It'll be automatically saved when you add or edit any text.

Now, when people select the other language while filling out your form, they'll see the translated form warnings and fields. Check out the screencast below to see how it'll work:

there's no edit any untranslated fields or edit the translated fields

I did these but still not changing

    Hi TimM,

As mentioned in Sheena’s reply, your form field translations are still empty, which is why you’re still seeing the English text even after selecting Spanish as the language. See the screencast below.

Can you share a quick screen recording of what’s happening after you added the translation on your end so we can try to replicate it on our end? You can upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox, or record with Loom and send us the link.

Meanwhile, I cloned and tested your form and added translations to each field. After switching the language, you can see from the screenshot below that they were translated automatically.

    Hi timoaangelica,

You need to manually enter translation for each field where translation is missing. Let me walk you through it:

    1. Open your form in Smart PDF Forms, and in the blue navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.

    2. After that, click on Show More Options, scroll down to the Form Languages section, and click on Edit.

    3. Then, in the Form Languages menu under Translations, click on the Pencil icon for the Español translation.

    4. Finally, enter a translation for each field. The translated text you add will be saved automatically.

You can also check our guide on How to Make Your Forms Multilingual.

    Hi timoaangelica,

Some fields are not automatically translated by the system when using the form language translation feature. In such cases, you will need to manually translate the fields that were not translated into your preferred language. Since the issue persists, can you please confirm the specific fields that are not translated? A screen recording would help us see exactly what’s happening. You can use Loom or upload to Google Drive/Dropbox, then send us the link.

I've gone ahead and cleared your form caches as an additional aid, in case it's not translating the fields after your manually added the translation.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

    Hi timoaangelica,

The system will try to translate all the text. When texts are not automatically translated, you have to manually translate them. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague here.

Let us know if you need any more help.
