paulconnectedmassageHello,
I have a Google reviews widget. The number of reviews displayed by widget no longer correlates to the number of reviews within Google.
Can you help please.

BrandonHi Paul,
We would be happy to help with your issue. I was able to view the page and see that it listed 223 reviews. Can you detail where and what the discrepancy is? Thank you!
Let us know if you have any questions. -
paulconnectedmassageHello,
Google shows the number of reviews as 225, whereas the widget displays 223; a discrepancy of 2.
-
Jerlan JotForm SupportHi Paul,
Can you take a screenshot of the page that shows 225 reviews and send it to us? We’ve got a quick guide on how to do that here.
When we hear back from you, we’ll be ready to move forward.

Joseph Christian JotForm SupportHi Paul,
I checked your Google Business Profile using the Google Reviews widget, and I can see the actual reviews showing correctly on my end. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:
Can you try using the direct Google Maps link instead of the business name to ensure it pulls the correct listing? Take a look at our guide on Getting Your Google Maps URL Link for more details. Also, our guide on How to Add Google Reviews to Your Website walks you through everything.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

paulconnectedmassageThanks - that works now.

paulconnectedmassageHello,
Since I implemented your suggestion, the number of Google reviews has
increased, but the widget is showing the value at the time of widget
creation. It seems that widget is not polling Google to get the correct
value.
Widget shows 225
Google shows 226
It seems there is a bug in the widget.

Sheena JotForm SupportHi Paul,
Can you try clearing your website cache first and then check the widget again? If the count still does not update, try removing the widget code from your website and adding it again. After that, refresh the page and see if the review count matches Google.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
-
paulconnectedmassageHello,
About clearing my website cache. My website does not have a cache. I am not sure what you mean. Please elaborate.
I removed and re-added the widget to my website. However, the widget still shows the incorrect review count. When I view the widget in Jotform, it shows the incorrect review count. So, the issue appears to be with the widget in Jotform, and not related to the website's use of the widget.
This looks like a bug with the widget. The widget uses the review count at the time of widget creation, and does not keep up with the review count in Google as it changes with time.

Sheena JotForm SupportHi Paul,
I created a ticket and escalated this to our Developers. Although we don't know exactly when it'll be fixed, we’ll circle back to this thread when we have an update.

-
paulconnectedmassageHello. I notice your widget is still reporting the number of reviews at time of widget creation, rather than at of time invocation. This problem exists across all templates.
-
Ronald JotForm SupportHi Paul,
I’ve gone ahead and reported this to our Developers so they can figure out what’s going on. We’ll be back with an update as soon as we can.
