    Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

To add commas between multiple selections in your PDF short text field, you need to use conditional formatting or calculation logic that joins the selected values with commas. This typically involves using a formula or script to concatenate the selections with commas in between.

If you are using the PDF Editor, ensure your mapped field supports concatenation and check if you can apply a calculation or formatting rule to insert commas between values.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Jimmy,

To add commas between multiple selections in a PDF short text field, you need to use the Text Field in the PDF Editor and insert the form fields there. The Text Field supports formatting, so you can concatenate the selections with commas.

    Here’s how to do it:

    1. Open your PDF document in the PDF Editor.
    2. Add a Text element where you want the selections to appear.
    3. Insert the multiple selection field from the Form Fields toolbar inside the Text element.
    4. Format the text to include commas between the selections if needed, using the editor’s formatting options.

This method allows you to customize how multiple selections appear with commas in your PDF output.

    Give it a try.

    Hi Jimmy,

Are you working on this form? If yes, did you mean that if form fillers chose multiple options from the Dropdown elements shown in the screenshot below, those multiple selections should be separated by commas?

If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more so I can help you better?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

Yes exactly what I'm looking for. I'm new to Jotform but wanting to learn. I tried filling out and it would not let me click on more than one

    Hi Jimmy,

Can you explain a bit more about the issue where you said you couldn't click more than one? Is this still related to the form that my colleague has mentioned? If so, which field are you having this issue so we can inspect what's going on? It would help us to understand what's happening if you could take a screenshot and send it to us. We have a guide here explaining how to do that.

Let us know if you need any more help.

    Hi Jimmy,

To make multiple selections from the Dropdown menu, if using a laptop or desktop, we need to hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard while clicking your mouse. When using a mobile device, we can simply tap the Dropdown element again to choose more.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
