How to Scan Documents in the Jotform Sign Mobile App

Jotform makes it easy to scan and sign documents right from your phone with the Jotform Sign Mobile App. Whether you’re turning a paper form into a digital document or preparing something to be signed, you can quickly scan, crop, and upload your file in just a few taps. It’s the simplest way to bring your physical documents into Jotform Sign and get them ready for signing anytime, anywhere.

Note

You’ll need to have the Jotform Sign Mobile App installed on your device. You can download it from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android) before you begin. Our guide on How to Download and Set Up the Jotform Sign Mobile App walks you through everything.


Scanning documents in your Jotform Sign Mobile App is easy to do. Here’s how:

  1. On your Jotform Sign Mobile App, at the bottom of the screen, tap on the Green Plus icon.

  1. Next, in the Create Signable Docs window that comes up, select one of the following options based on your workflow:
    • Self Sign — Sign the document yourself.
    • Invite to Sign — Send the document to others for signatures.

  1. Then, tap on Scan Document and use your camera to capture the document. The app will automatically crop it for you.

Note

You can scan multiple documents at once and include them in a single signing session.

  1. Once you’re done scanning your document, enter a name for it in the Document Name field, and then tap on Next in the top-right corner of the screen.

  1. Next, at the bottom of the screen, tap on Add Element.

  1. Then, add Document elements as needed. For example, the Signature element.

  1. After adding the elements, in the top-right corner of the screen, tap on Sign.

  1. Next, at the bottom of the screen, tap on Start Signing.

  1. Then, enter or draw your signature depending on your setup, and tap on Finish.

  1. Finally, tap on Accept and Sign, and you’re done!
