Workflow Email Settings: Submission PDFs Not Showing in Attachment Selection
Image-1When I attempt to add the submission pdfs, on the email, nothing appears when I click the arrow. I have refreshed the page a bunch and cleared the cache. Here is the workflow link:https://www.jotform.com/workflow/253444562188160/buildd

    Hi Eva,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Regarding your issue with adding submission PDFs in the email where nothing appears when you click the arrow, here’s what you can do to resolve it:

    1. Remove and re-add the PDF attachments in your workflow email settings. Sometimes this refreshes the connection and makes the PDFs selectable again.

    2. In Workflow Builder, click on the PDF element, then open its Properties by clicking the gear icon. Check the General tab to ensure the correct PDFs are selected for sending.

    3. In the Advanced tab of the PDF element or email settings, make sure the toggle for sending submission PDFs is enabled and properly configured.

If the problem persists, try clearing the selection and saving, then reselect the PDFs you want to attach.

For detailed steps on setting up PDF elements and attaching submission PDFs to emails in workflows, you can refer to this guide: How to Set Up the PDF Element in Jotform Workflows.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Eva,

It seems like the dropdown to add submission PDFs in your workflow email is not working properly. Let me walk you through how to attach submission PDFs to your email notifications, which might help resolve this issue:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Settings tab in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page.

    2. In the menu on the left, click on Emails.

    3. Hover over the Notification Email element and click the Pencil icon to edit it.

    4. Click on the Advanced tab, toggle Attach PDF to the On position, and select the PDF file you created.

    5. Scroll down and click Save.

If the dropdown still doesn't work, try creating or re-creating the PDF file in the PDF Editor first, then return to the email settings to attach it.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

I do not want to add it to the email option on the form. I have a final email that gets sent in my workflow and I want them on that email.

    Hi Eva,

To add submission PDFs to the final email in your workflow (not the form's email settings), you need to use the PDF element within the Workflow Builder. Let me walk you through the process:

    1. In Workflow Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the screen.

    2. Under the Basic tab, drag and drop the PDF element into your workflow.

    3. Click on the PDF element, then click the Gear icon to open its Properties.

    4. In the General tab, choose which PDF document to send and specify the recipient email address if needed.

    5. In the Advanced tab, you can customize the notification email that will be sent with the PDF and add any additional PDF attachments.

    6. Make sure the toggle for sending submission PDFs is enabled and configured properly.

This setup allows you to attach submission PDFs specifically to the final email sent in your workflow, separate from the form's notification emails.

For more detailed guidance, you can check the Jotform guide on How to Set Up the PDF Element in Jotform Workflows.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Eva,

I cloned and tested your form to see if I can replicate the issue, and the same thing happened to me. After making some more tests and investigating further, I found the root cause of the issue. It's an easy fix. We just need to create a PDF template in your NSP Faculty Compensation Request and other forms. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Downward arrow icon on the top left corner of the page, and select PDF Editor.
    2. In PDF Editor, click on the New PDF tab and select Default layout.

Image-1 Repeat the same for other affected forms and that's it. You'll now be able to select the PDF templates in your Workflow emails like so:
