Watson_DeannaGood Morning,
I’ve configured the form to hide fields that I no longer want visible, including ones that were previously completed. All participants who previously completed this form are receiving an email prompting them to finish editing their application, but I no longer want them to be able to view or edit the previous information they have submitted.
However, when they click the “Edit Submission” link in the email, the full form still appears, including fields they didn’t complete.
How can I adjust the form so that only the fields I’ve marked as visible are shown when participants access the form through the edit link?

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Deanna,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Here’s how to do it:
- Add the Get Form Page URL widget to your form in Form Builder.
- Go to Settings and click Conditions.
- Create a Show / Hide Field condition.
- Set the source field to Get Form Page URL, choose Contains, and enter edit as the target value.
- Apply the condition to the fields you want hidden or shown when the form is opened through the edit link.
This setup is used for showing or hiding fields on the Edit URL, and it works with conditional logic. The key part is using Get Form Page URL as the source and edit as the value.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Deanna,
Let me help you with that:
- Use the Get Form Page URL widget together with conditional logic for the Edit URL.
- Go to Settings and click Conditions.
- Select Show / Hide Field, then set Get Form Page URL as the source field.
- Choose Contains as the condition and enter edit as the target value.
- Apply the condition to the fields you want hidden or shown when the form is opened through the edit link.
This is the method used for showing or hiding fields on the Edit URL. The key part is making sure the condition uses Get Form Page URL as the source and edit as the value.
If the fields still appear, please test the condition in the form preview to confirm the logic is being triggered correctly.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Reymae JotForm SupportHi Deanna,
When someone opens a submission through the edit link, the form normally displays all fields for review and updating. To fix this, you can control visibility during editing by using a Hide Field condition that targets when the form is accessed via the edit link. First, you need the Get Form Page URL widget to detect if the form is accessed directly or via edit link. Let me show you how to add this to your form:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Then, in the Form Elements menu, under the Widgets tab, scroll down the list and choose the Get Form Page URL widget.
- Now, just drag and drop it to your form.
Now, let's set up the conditions:
1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
2. Next, click on Conditions on the left of the page.
3. Now, click on Show/Hide Field to create your condition (if you already have a condition, first click on Add Condition and then click on Show/Hide Field).
4. Set the conditions like you see below and click on Save:
Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.
