blacomcom28715Hello,
I have created several forms. They all work on Chrome and Edge on desktop and mobile and work on Safari on MacOS, but none of them work on any iOS devices across several people. I have done every bit of troubleshooting from the AI bot, including a cloned form, cleared cache, WiFi turned off, Private browsing, many form settings changed, everything.
They all hang at the Please Wait stage when hitting Submit. There are no custom redirects at the end. The form data DOES submit, but the submitter never sees this. If you hit the back arrow and then the forward arrow, you do get the Thank You screen at that time.
The forms that I have tested are:
- https://form.jotform.com/260886122946162, (cloned and stripped of widgets)
- https://form.jotform.com/260898521068163 (full form of above)
- https://form.jotform.com/260867790447067 (simple form with no widgets)
Thank you for any assistance that you can give me.

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Lisa,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Regarding your issue with forms hanging at the "Please Wait" stage on iOS Safari while still submitting data, this can sometimes be related to browser cache or session issues. Here are some steps that might help resolve this:
- Log out from your Jotform account and clear your browser cache and cookies on the iOS device, then log in again.
- Try using a different browser on the iOS device if possible, to see if the issue persists.
- Since the form data does submit but the Thank You page does not show immediately, it might be related to how Safari handles page redirects or scripts after submission. Unfortunately, custom JavaScript or delayed redirects on the Thank You page are not supported by Jotform, which might cause issues on some browsers.
Also, consider using the Review Before Submit widget if you want users to confirm their entries before submitting, which can sometimes help with submission flow issues.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be related to specific iOS Safari behaviors or settings that are beyond Jotform's control.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

blacomcom28715I have tried all of the above. It does not happen in other browsers. Just in Safari in iOS. Review before Submit does not impact it at all.
Thank You

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Lisa,
Since you've already tried the common troubleshooting steps and the Review Before Submit widget does not impact the issue, it appears this problem is specific to how Safari on iOS handles the form submission process and the display of the Thank You page.
Unfortunately, this behavior is known to occur due to Safari's handling of page redirects or scripts after form submission, which can cause the form to hang at the "Please Wait" stage even though the data is submitted successfully.
At this time, there is no direct fix within Jotform to change this Safari-specific behavior. You might consider advising your users to use alternative browsers like Chrome or Edge on iOS devices as a workaround.
Let us know if you have any other questions or need further assistance.

Lorenz JotForm SupportHi Lisa,
Thanks for reaching out to us for help. I cloned the full form, and the submission is going through when I tested it on an iOS device. Check out my result:
I didn't have to hit the back-arrow, I get the thank you page instantly after hitting submit. To further inspect this, we would like to get your permission to allow us make a test submission directly to your form.
Once we hear back from you, we can help you sort this out.

blacomcom28715I just discovered that the form submit will work if I direct it to have a different web page open instead of the Thank You page. It seems that the Thank You page is the issue with Safari for some reason.

blacomcom28715Sorry, I had not seen your reply earlier. You may certainly have access to my forms. It still does not work for me.

Raymond JotForm SupportHi Lisa,
Similar to my colleague, I've cloned and tested your form with the thank you page configured to show, but everythying waas working as expected. Check out the screenshot below for my resultL
I cleared your form's cache which should help. Can you try it again and see how it goes? If the same thing happens again, can you let us know the specific iOS device being used, and if it happens on specific browser or App?
Keep us updated and let us know how it goes.

blacomcom28715I got a message on my Reddit post that the agent there was able to recreate the problem on his own form with Safari and iOS and has elevated the request. Thanks!

BrandonHi Lisa,
I am glad that you were able to get the request escalated! I see the other ticket, and I will leave a link to it here for safekeeping. Since the request is being taken care of in that ticket, I will resolve this one. You can see updates to the situation in the other ticket. Thank you for your understanding. -
blacomcom28715Hello,
I'm not sure if anyone will see this, but that link leads to a 404 Error.
Thank You,

Lorenz JotForm SupportHi Lisa,
The the link shared was a private thread, that's why you're getting a 404 error message when trying to access it Can you confirm if you're still getting the issue? Since it's working when we clone your form, would it be okay if we make a test submission directly to your form so we can further inspect it, and escalate it to our Developers as well if needed?
Once we hear back from you, we can help you sort this out.
