    Hi Jose,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand your frustration with the AI deleting fields from your form unexpectedly. Could you provide more details about the actions you took with the AI before the fields were deleted? This will help us understand what happened and find a solution to restore your form to its previous state, if possible.

You can also use the Revision History feature that lets you revert your form to an older version you select. Let me show you how to use it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Circular Arrow icon at the top middle of the page to open the Revision History menu.
    2. In the menu on the right side of the page, select the version you want to restore the form to.
    3. Now, just click on Revert next to the version you select, and then close the Revision History menu in the top right corner.

I asked it to create a formula to assign points to a question and then I scrolled up and saw that I lost 20 questions.

    Hi Jose,

Thanks for the additional information. I understand that you asked the AI to create a formula for assigning points, and after that, you noticed that 20 questions disappeared from your form. This definitely should not happen without your consent.

Let me guide you through a couple of steps to help recover your form fields and prevent this from happening again:

    1. Use the Revision History feature to revert your form to the version before the AI made the changes. This will restore the missing fields. You can access it by clicking the circular arrow icon at the top middle of the Form Builder page.
    2. After restoring, consider duplicating your form before making further AI-assisted edits. This way, you have a backup in case of unexpected changes.
    3. When using AI features, make sure to review changes carefully before continuing to avoid accidental deletions.

Let us know if you need any more help.

How can I stop the AI from deleting items I did not ask it to interact with?

    Hi Jose,

At the moment, there isn’t a way to fully restrict the AI so it only touches specific parts of your form. The only way to completely stop it from making any changes is to not use the AI tool while editing your form. If you still want to use it, here are a few things that can help reduce unwanted changes:

    1. Be very specific with your prompt. For example: only update this field and don’t modify anything else
    2. Make small, step-by-step changes instead of one big reques
    3. Double-check the form right after the AI makes changes before continuing

Reach out again if you have any other questions.

I wasn't editing my form. I told the AI to Specifically CREATE a field with a formula. I never told it to touch another field. Is asking for ONE field with a formula too much. If so I'll take you up on your advise and not use the AI.

    Hi Jose,

If you asked the AI to create a new field, it should not have modified your existing fields. Since the feature is still evolving, it may sometimes apply changes more broadly than intended, especially when working with form structure and calculations. To avoid further unwanted changes, I recommend using the Revision History feature to revert the form to a previous version if needed.

For now, the most reliable approach would be to manually add the formula field or guide the AI with more specific instructions, such as explicitly stating not to modify any existing fields. If you’d like, you can share what formula you’re trying to create, and I’ll help you set it up step by step to make sure it works exactly as intended.
