Edward_DeAngelisQuestion
I have an Excel data form linked to my job form auto complete
I would like users to be able to select from the 1000 available selections by scrolling. To prevent the errors that come back if they don't type in the number correctly. This way they could just select or start typing the numbers to see which one they want.
This is possible?

Gian_D JotForm SupportHi Edward,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. If I understand correctly, you want your users to be able to select an option on the Dropdown field, and the selected option on that Dropdown field will be automatically inserted on your Spreadsheet to Form widget to prevent users from typing the number incorrectly. Is that right?
If so, you can use conditional logic to automatically copy the selected option in the Dropdown field to your Spreadsheet to Form widget. Let me show you how to do it:
1. In Form Builder, click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen.
2. Then, click on Conditions on the left side of the page.
3. After that, click on Update/Calculate Field on the list.4. Copy the condition settings pattern below, and click on Save on the lower part of the page.
That's it. If that’s not quite what you’re looking for, can you share a bit more info so I can help you better?
As soon as we hear back from you, we can work on getting you a solution for this.

Edward_DeAngelisThat is what I am looking for
What I would like to see is a drop-down list that the user can pick from
instead of having to type in a number
this could be coming from the Excel datasheet that I uploaded
The Excel sheet works fine except that it's easy to make a mistake when typing in a number
With the drop-down list you would just be picking number

Gian_D JotForm SupportHi Edward,
You can add a Dropdown field on your form and paste the options in there. Let me show you how to do it:
1. In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
2. Then, drag and drop a Dropdown element from the left side of the page to your form.
3. After that, click on your Dropdown field, and click on its Gear icon.
4. Next, click on the Options tab on the upper right side of the page.
5. Paste your 1,000 options on the Options field on the left side of the page.Once done, you can add a conditional logic on your form by following the steps I've provided on my previous message. Do you need further assistance with your form?
Once we hear back from you, we can help you sort this out.

Edward_DeAngelisI did exactly as you suggested and it works somewhat.
I pasted all the numbers into the options and they do come up in the form
the problem is there are close to 13,000 possible selections and it's not showing all the options
Otherwise it's working okay
Is there any way to get all 13,000 possible selections into the dropdown
Thanks Ed

Kyle JotForm SupportHi Edward,
Unfortunately, the Dropdown element has a rough character limit of around 65,000, so it won’t be able to hold that many entries. That’s why you’re only seeing part of your list; it simply can’t fit all 13,000 options.
As a workaround, you can consider splitting the options into smaller grouped Dropdowns (for example, by ranges or categories) or continue using the Spreadsheet to Form widget, where users can type or search for their entry. This way, you can still reduce typing errors without hitting the character limit.
Try that and reach out again if you need more help.
