isaac85ukHi there, could u help me set a calculation on my form, i would like the service selected to be multiplied by the hours reuired and give a total cost. I have tried using your AI specialist but it gives the wrong calculation in the total cost. see the screen shot below.

HasanHi Isaac,
I checked your screenshot, and we can easily get that calculation working for you. To multiply the service selected by the hours required, we first need to assign a numerical value (the price) to each service option. Then, we can set up a simple multiplication formula.
Let me show you how to do it:
First, assign prices to your service options:
- In Form Builder, click on the Multiple Choice element, and click on the Gear icon.
- Then, in the menu that opens on the right side of the page, click on Options.
- Next, toggle on Calculation Values, and in the fields beside each option, input a number or letter that will serve as its value.
Next, set up the calculation formula:
- Select your Total Cost field (Form Calculation widget) and click on the Wand icon to open its settings.
- Click on the Add Field button and select your Service field.
- Click on the multiplication sign (*) on the virtual keypad.
- Click on Add Field again and select your Hours required field.
- Click on Save at the bottom.
Your formula should now simply look like Service * Hours required with dark backgrounds on the fields.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Kris Ann JotForm SupportHi Isaac,
When I checked, your Form Calculation formula is still not updated. Make sure you click on the Save button after you made the changes. Follow the steps shared here again. Take a look at the screencast below:

isaac85ukHi Kris,
My form calculation widget looks slightly different from your. Do u notice from the scree short below that mine already has some code at the top while yours is empty?
-
SkylarHi isaac85uk!
I see that there is a code already present, as you have mentioned. Are you able to delete that code? Or, you can try deleting the Form Calculation Widget from the form, and re-adding it so it has reset back to factory settings.
Then, use the blue "Add Field" setting at the top right of the Form Calculation widget to create the formula. From there, you can follow Kris' steps on figuring out the correct calculation configuration to get the total into that last section.
If you have tried this already, we can take some more steps to figure it out together.
Let me know if this helps!

isaac85ukNow my total is wrong rather than showing £175.50 when £5.50 is added for cleaning products now it shows 17505.5.

Jerlan JotForm SupportHi Isaac,
I have checked your form, and the reason why it's not calculating correctly is that your conditions have a missing field error. Take a look at the screenshot below:
This happens when a field is deleted. I suggest checking each condition and configuring it to the correct field. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
