Bonjour,

Hi bdufour,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Our French Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users right now, so I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in French, let us know and we can have them do that. But, it might take a while until they're available again.
Now, coming back to your question, I’ll need a bit of time to look into this. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it.

Hi bdufour,
Just to clarify, you'd like to use a different field data as the name for the prefilled URL?
I made some tests and checked, and the title is automatically pulled and can only be changed manually. Let me show you how to manually change the prefill name.
- In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Publish.
- On the left menu, select Prefill, then click on Tables Prefill.
- Now in the page that opens, hover your mouse over the Prefill you set up, and click on the Three Dots icon next to it.
- Select Rename and enter the name you want for the field. That's it.
While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we look into this.

Cordialement,

Hi bdufour,
The table prefill title is automatically generated by the system—usually using the submission ID, Name, or Email Address fields.
However, I’ve submitted a feature request so you can use a specific form field (like dossier) as the title for the prefill link. I'll update the annotation to the Developers that once you select a field as a title for the prefill it will be applied to all newly created prefills.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

Bonjour,

Hi bdufour,
I've gone ahead and updated the annotation for the developer team to check. In the meantime, it's recommended that when table prefill links are created, you should follow a sequential order. This way, the links are created following the order in the table.
We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we’re looking into this.

Hi bdufour,
Even though your table is formatted with the Folder column in the first position, the system automatically assigns a default field, typically the Submission ID, Name, or Email Address, as the title for each prefill URL. At this time, it’s not possible to manually set another field (like your Folder column) as the link title.
Also, while the order of the submissions in the generated table prefill links follows the sequence shown in your Tables view, this ordering is simply recommended to keep things organized; it’s not connected to how the link titles are generated.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it

Bonjour,

Hi bdufour,
Just to clarify, the issue with the prefill link labels (like showing the Submission ID instead of your Folder field) is more of a user interface limitation, where the system auto-generates the link title based on default fields (Submission ID, Name, or Email).
What you're now dealing with—matching prefilled links to the original source data—is more on the back-end data management side. Since you're already using the folder name and have it included in your source table, you're in a good position to track and match prefilled submissions accurately. You'll need to download both the:
- Source form’s table: this is the form used to generate the prefill data (where the folder name comes from).
- Prefilled form’s table: this is the form users filled out after receiving the prefilled link.
Once downloaded, you can open both tables in Excel (or Google Sheets) and use a common field like the folder name (which you’ve already arranged on your table) to match and compare entries.
This makes it easier to manage submissions, track which prefill link corresponds to which original record, and verify response completion.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
