Best way to clone certain part of the form

Since these questions have conditional logic set to them, would it be easier to just duplicate the form and then delete all the other questions except for those? That way, I keep the conditions already set.

    Hi rtbmembership,

You can use the Field Manager integration to easily clone fields from one form to another in Jotform. Let me walk you through it:

    1. Login to your Jotform account and go to the Field Manager page.

    2. Click on Manage Fields and in the window that opens, click on Allow.

    3. Next, click on Open a Form to Begin, select the form whose fields you want to clone, and then click on Continue at the bottom-right of the window.

    4. Then, click on Open a Second Form to Clone Fields and select the target form where the fields will be cloned and click on Continue.

    5. Next, select the fields you want to clone from the first form, and click on the Blue Arrow to clone the fields to the second form.

Keep in mind that once you deleted a form field that is connected to a conditional logic, that conditional logic will be broken.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

So the cloned field retains its conditional logic? And if I delete the original fields from the first form, then that will break the conditional logic? If so, can I just hide the original fields in the first form instead of deleting them?

I'm just trying to understand all my options before I change the form. The conditional logic I set says that once they hit submit, an email will be sent out to the email addresses the user typed in those fields. I really just need all that to happen earlier than after a user submits. And I'm trying to figure out ways for that to happen.

    Hi rtbmembership,

Using the Field Manager, the conditions set up on the fields are not cloned. Check out the screencast below to see how it works: Best way to clone certain part of the form Image 1 Screenshot 30 The Field Manager tool is best for managing the fields of two forms at the same time, but it doesn't include Form Settings like the conditions. If you want to duplicate the fields including the condition, it's best to clone the form and delete or hide the unnecessary fields. Take a look at the screencast below to see my results: Best way to clone certain part of the form Image 2 Screenshot 41 Cloning a form generates a new, separate form that counts toward your account’s Form Limit. The new form is an exact replica of the original but functions independently, meaning any edits you make won’t impact the original form.

Notification and Autoresponder Emails, along with their subject, content, recipients, and other settings, are copied as they are. Conditions, Thank-You Page settings, Jotform Sign Automation setup, Workflows, Fillable PDFs, and PDF Documents are also copied, but integrations, prefills, and reports are not. We also have a guide here that you can check out to learn more about How to Clone an Existing Form From Your Account.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.
