Venmo via PayPal Business: Venmo Payment Option not showing on mobile

    When I access the jotform link for our event on my phone, the venmo option for purchase disappears and only paypal is visible. When I access the link on a computer, venmo is there. Customers are complaining there is no venmo option because they are trying to access on phones. How can I fix this problem?

    Thanks for reaching out to JotForm Support. Are you working on this form? Can you share a screenshot of the form when accessed by your customers on mobile? Meantime, keep in mind that the Venmo payment method will only show for US users. And if they're using an iOS device, it will only show on Safari browser. In addition, to use Venmo payment on a mobile device, it is necessary to have the Venmo app installed. You can also try integrating your form directly with PayPal Business instead as an alternative to accept Venmo payments. We have a guide to do that here.

    Once we hear back from you, we'll have a better idea of what's going on and how to help.

    Hi eyestotheskiesholgate,

    Can you provide us the information needed? Are we working with this form? Also, if you can take a screenshot of what’s happening, that'll help us to understand better what’s going on. Let me show you how to post a screenshot to our Support Forum:

    1. On the Support Forum page, scroll down to the Your Answer section and click on the Image icon.

    2. Drag and drop your image into the Upload box, or click on it and select your file.

    3. Then, click on the Add button in the bottom-right corner of the window.

    4. To resize it, click on your screenshot and then click on one of the boxes in the corners, and drag it inward.

    5. Once you're finished, click on the Post Answer button at the bottom right of the Your Answer section.

    YOU GUYS!!!!! This is a known issue. Even if you don't want to committ to a payment as a support person for JotForm, you can complete the form and see what everyone is asking about here. Click the link you asked about this form select the $40 option and a test name/email from YOUR phone.

    You will then see what everyone is talking/asking about! IS VENMO USABLE FROM YOUR PHONE?

    It does NOT produce the QR code or take you to Venmo at all! Sometimes, your only option is to go to the PayPal button to pay.

    So many donors want to use VENMO and the phone is the best place to Jotform. PLEASE FIX THIS. JOTFORM SUPPORT TEAM?!

    I see that this issue was already escalated to our Developers for further checking. Although we don't know exactly when it'll be fixed, we’ll circle back to this thread when we have an update.

    Hello eyestotheskiesholgate,

    PayPal has indicated that changes made between January 8th and January 21st, 2025, may be causing issues with Venmo payments.

    We use the client-side integration for Venmo so this incident has affected us. The issue can be reproduced on Mobile Safari.

    We have already reported the issue to them and are awaiting further updates. PayPal is actively working on a fix. Unfortunately, their status page does not accurately reflect the incident, but you can find the open GitHub issue if needed.
