What counts as a signed document?

I'm looking at your Gold Plan pricing, and I note there is a limit of 5,000 "submissions" per month but a much lower limit of 500 "signed documents" per month.  If I am trying to collect electronic signatures on a petition, does each signature count as a "signed document" as opposed to a "submission"? Is a submission a response that doesn't include a legally binding e-signature?

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The Monthly Signed Documents limit refers to the use of Jotform Sign, or forms with Jotform Sign Automation enabled. If you don't use these features, you can still collect signatures and count it towards the monthly submission limit instead. Let me show you where to find the Jotform Sign automation option:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Settings.
    2. Next, click on the Jotform Sign section.
    3. Then, toggle on/off the Jotform Sign automation.
