How can I import questions from an Excel file into a JOTform table?

    Dear reader,

I am trying to build a form in JOT-form, using Tables first. I want to import over 5,000 questions form an Excel-file into JOT-form, without the import app. To do this, means I have to do a lot of tasks manually and I am wondering if these can be done automatically.

    1) I would like to import all my questions as single select questions in the column type. How can I do this automatically, without having to manually select this for each column (aka question)?

    2) When I have created my form, I would like to be able to show my respondents a random subset of 15 questions of the 5,000 questions. I found a way to do this by using random value generator and the conditions option. For example, If random value generator starts with 1, then show question 1, 5, 34, etc.. Is there a way to do this automatically? That would save us a lot of time.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,

    Nona

    Hi Nona,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, it's not possible to import questions to the form via excel, only the data or answers. While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Meantime, our highest regular plan which is Gold only allows 1,000 form fields, so if you want to have 5,000 fields on your form, you may consider our Enterprise plan that will allow the number of your required form fields. You can contact our Enterprise Sales team here.

As for only showing 15 out of 5,000 questions, I'm afraid there's currently no direct way to achieve it aside from your mentioned workaround.

Let us know if you need any more help.

    Hi Sonnyfer,

Thanks for the swift response. Too bad to hear there is no current way to automatically do this.

A follow-up question: you mention above that the regular plan only allows 1,000 form field and that the Enterprise plan allows for 5,000 field. I was under the impression that my company is part of the Enterprise plan, would you be able to check that for me? Thanks!
