Mobile Phone Allocation & Use

1. The allocated mobile phone remains the property of SHARC at all times 2. Staff must treat the phone as they would any other SHARC property – respectfully, carefully and in a way that is aligned with SHARC’s Code of Conduct 3. Allocated SHARC mobile phones must only be used for activities and tasks that are directly related to SHARC. They are not a replacement for a personal mobile phone and should not be treated as such 4. SHARC mobile phones are provided with the intention of them being for SHARC work purposes. However, it is recognised that in reasonable circumstances staff may need to make or receive personal phone calls on a SHARC mobile phone, but this should be kept to a minimum 5. SHARC mobile phones must not be used by anyone other than the person they have been allocated to. At times they can be used by other SHARC staff, however this use should be on a one off/short term basis 6. Staff must not use the mobile phone while operating a motor vehicle unless a hands-free car kit or Bluetooth is installed. Any penalties and fines as a result of misuse will be solely at the staff member’s cost 7. SHARC reserves the right to monitor usage patterns and investigate any significant variances or anomalies. If it is found that a mobile phone has been used irresponsibly or unreasonably, SHARC has the right to seek reimbursement 8. SHARC reserves the right to withdraw the mobile phone at any time 9. Staff must take care to ensure the mobile phone is not damaged, lost or stolen, must keep the phone clean and in a serviceable condition to the best of their ability, and report any theft or significant issue to their Manager immediately 10. At the end of employment with SHARC, allocated mobile phones must be returned to SHARC along with any equipment that was allocated alongside it such as chargers and cases.
