What is the difference between a submission and a signature?

I am not sure of the difference between a submission and a signature. I believe that all of my submissions will have a signature, and there will be approximately 10-15 per month. If I exceed the 10 threshold by a couple, can I still use the free version, or pay some nominal amount without having to go to the $19.95 version.

    Hi Doug,

Let me clarify the difference between a submission and a signature and explain the limits for the free plan. A submission is when someone fills out and sends your form. A signature is a specific type of submission that includes an electronic signature, making the form or document legally binding if you have enabled the Jotform Sign feature.

For the Starter (Free) plan, here are the key limits to keep in mind:

    • 100 monthly submissions
    • 10 monthly signed documents (signatures)
    • 5 active forms
    • 100 MB available storage

If you expect about 10-15 submissions per month and all include signatures, you might exceed the 10 monthly signed documents limit on the free plan. Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay a nominal amount for a small overage on the free plan. To accommodate more signed documents, you would need to upgrade to a paid plan such as the Bronze plan at $19.95/month, which allows 100 monthly signed documents. You can view all plan details and upgrade options on our Pricing page.
