About
TRIO Upward Bound, a college readiness program under the Higher Education Consortium of Metropolitan St. Louis, supports first-generation, low-income students in their journey to higher education. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, the nonprofit uses Jotform to streamline onboarding and empower students and parents with self-serve, AI-powered tools.
Challenge
When unexpected circumstances left the director of Upward Bound without his administrative assistant and star recruiter, he faced a critical challenge: onboarding new students for their program in time for summer. Previously, this process required scheduling in-person time, often leading to delays due to lack of availability during working hours.
Solution
To solve this, the director trained a Presentation Agent to introduce the program, guide students through the application process, and explain stipend payments.
Results
What had once been an entirely manual process became seamless. The team went from having no ability to onboard students independently to achieving 100 percent self-onboarding using AI. In total, 15 new students received a presentation and applied on their own, eliminating weeks of potential scheduling conflicts.
Reducing nonprofit costs by replacing manual tools with AI-powered solutions
When it comes to running a nonprofit and you're thinking about ways to cut costs, using Jotform AI Agents, in my opinion, helps with reducing expenses. I was able to eliminate two other programs because of this product.
