mmosaadhello team
we need to add an OCR reader as a widget in to mobile APP
we did search a lot with no luck to find a way to do that as we need to auto read / scan number from photo as we do with barcode
is there is any way to or work around to do that

Linnea_A Jotform SupportHi mmosaad,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, an OCR scanner isn't something currently available on Jotform Apps. Could you tell us a bit more about what kind of setup you need precisely, in case there's a workaround for the issue we can come up with?
Our Form Builder offers Barcode Scanner and QR Code Reader widgets, and with a form embedded in an app, they can be used within an app. Could those widgets serve the same purpose, or is the information you need to scan only available in numbers and not easily convertible to other formats?
Once we hear back from you, we'll have a better understanding of what's going on, and can think of a solution for your situation. -
mmosaadthank you for your answer
but what we need is an OCR to scan number as we QR Code Reader widgets to read QR code
we just need to scan and read numbers within the app

Janice_B Jotform SupportHi mmosaad,
Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, the feature OCR widget that you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now. As a workaround, you can use the Barcode Scanner and QR Code Reader widgets suggested by my colleague.
We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

ahmetbas JotForm Data ScientistHi,
Great news, we've implemented the OCR Autofill widget you asked for. This widget lets respondents take a photo or upload a file, then uses AI to extract matching details and populate supported fields automatically. Additionally, adding it to your form takes just a few seconds.
Open the Form Builder and follow these steps:
1. Click Add Element on the left panel.
2. Navigate to the Widgets tab.
3. Search for OCR Autofill.
4. Click the widget to add it to your form automatically.
- You can find the widget directly from the Widgets search panel:

- Once added, the OCR Autofill widget can sit alongside regular form fields. In this example, it is used in a sample Business Card Registration form with fields such as Full Name, Company, Email Address, and Phone Number.

- A sample business card image is uploaded, and the OCR Autofill widget extracts the relevant contact details and fills the matching form fields automatically:

We hope the OCR Autofill widget proves useful for your forms. We’d appreciate any feedback from users after trying it out, especially regarding supported document types, extracted field accuracy, and any additional use cases they would like to see supported.
Best,
