robcorveseHi,
I am woking on a kiosk application where the user will need to scan in there drivers licenses. There is a lot of date in a Real ID barcode on the back of a drivers licenses. So you will need a parser to extract the persons name and address out of it. Do you have support for this?
Thanks

Mafe_MHello Robert,
Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, we do not have OCR (Optical character recognition) option yet. I have escalated your request to our Developers. Please keep in mind that there's no assurance that this will be implemented, as it will highly depend on the viability of the feature, the number of similar requests we receive, in addition to the workload of our Developers. We will notify you via this thread when we have an update.
We do however have a Barcode Scanner which could scan codes that are attached and submitted to the form. It won't scan driver's licenses but if you use tickets or something with a barcode it could submit that data. I've created a quick demo form that has the Barcode Scanner and Camera widget that you can test if you'd like to take a look. You can clone this form. Cloning your forms using a form URL is easy to do. Let me walk you through it:
- Open your My Forms page and click on Create Form on the left side of the page.
- In the window that opens up, click on Import Form.
- In the next window, click on From a Webpage.
- Paste the form link (https://form.jotform.com/230724559954062) into the field and click on Create Form.
After cloning your form, it will open up in Form Builder automatically. Now, you can edit the way you want it and publish it.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

robcorveseThank you,
I have another requirement to put a call number on the tablets screen after the form is submitted. This number would be used to put a player on a que. So the player would fill out the form and then get a call number.
Is there a way to send back this call number in the response back from Jotform?

robcorveseAlso could I capture a picture of a license (front and Back) and send it up with the form?

Mohamed_Translator Jotform SupportHello Robert,
Thanks for using Jotform. I moved your question about having a call number at the end of your form to a new thread and helped you with that here. As for your other question about languages, I've moved that to a new thread. You can check that out here.
I don't recommend that you ask for sensitive data like the front and back driver license within your forms, I have checked your form and found that it is asking for SSN. Kindly be aware that this might lead to your account suspension and your forms will be disabled because this should not be an information to gather via forms. Try to remove any fields asking for sensitive information.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

robcorveseThanks Mohamed, The form was one of your templates.
I was never inteding to use it in a live senerio just player with it.
So from what I am hearing we would never be able to collect drivers liciense or SSN in one of your forms. Is this correct?
Thanks

Janice_B Jotform SupportHi Robert,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can collect Driver's License and SSN uploads from your customers, but I would like further information on how to do so without going against the Terms of Use.
You need to have the following in order to obtain sensitive information from your users:
- Use a E-Signature Widget to enable your users to sign and confirm that they are willing to disclose such sensitive information.
- Include the Terms & Conditions Widget (or the Short Scrollable Terms Widget) so that your users can read and accept the legal terms you have presented.
- Please Form Encryption enabled for the submission data.
To learn more about Jotform security, please visit our security webpage.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

ahmetbas JotForm Data ScientistHi,
Great news, we've implemented the OCR Autofill widget you asked for. This widget lets respondents take a photo or upload a file, then uses AI to extract matching details and populate supported fields automatically. Additionally, adding it to your form takes just a few seconds.
Open the Form Builder and follow these steps:
1. Click Add Element on the left panel.
2. Navigate to the Widgets tab.
3. Search for OCR Autofill.
4. Click the widget to add it to your form automatically.
- You can find the widget directly from the Widgets search panel:

- Once added, the OCR Autofill widget can sit alongside regular form fields. In this example, it is used in a sample Business Card Registration form with fields such as Full Name, Company, Email Address, and Phone Number.

- A sample business card image is uploaded, and the OCR Autofill widget extracts the relevant contact details and fills the matching form fields automatically:

We hope the OCR Autofill widget proves useful for your forms. We’d appreciate any feedback from users after trying it out, especially regarding supported document types, extracted field accuracy, and any additional use cases they would like to see supported.
Best,
