Podo: Support SpecialistHi Cheryl,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
From your description and the image, what you are seeing at the end of your Curriculum Consultation Form is the visual indicator of a Workflow start point (labeled Start Point → Workflow → On Submission → Form). This is part of the Jotform Workflows feature, which lets you build flows that run when a form is submitted (for example, approvals, email routing, or other workflow steps).
This block can appear when a workflow has been created or initialized for that form, even if you do not remember manually adding it. It is essentially showing that your form is set as the start point of a workflow that triggers on submission.
If you prefer not to use a workflow on this form, you can disable the Workflow so it no longer runs:
Let me walk you through it:
- Click on your Curriculum Consultation Form to open it in Form Builder.
- Click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page.
- Select Workflow from the menu on the left side.
- Hover over the existing Workflow, then click on the Gear icon.
- Click on Disable to turn off the workflow for that form.
Once disabled, the workflow will no longer run on submission, and that workflow entry will effectively be inactive for your form.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

cheryl.nedrowI need to have a workflow for various departments to approve the form. I'm not sure how this even started.

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Cheryl,
What you’re seeing is the start of a Jotform Workflow that’s already attached to your Curriculum Consultation Form. Since you actually do need a workflow for multi-department approvals, that “Start Point → On Submission → Form” block is exactly the correct starting piece — it just means “when this form is submitted, start the workflow.”
Even if you don’t remember adding it, it may have been created earlier (for example, from a template or a quick setup). You don’t need to remove it; instead, you’ll want to open and configure that workflow so each department can approve in turn.
Let me walk you through how to get into it and build the approvals:
Open and access your existing workflow
- Open your Curriculum Consultation Form in Form Builder.
- Click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top.
- Select Workflow from the left-side menu.
- Click on the existing Workflow (the one that shows your form as the start point) to open the Workflow Builder.
Add approval steps for your departments
- Click on the Plus (+) icon in Workflow Builder to add elements.
- Add one or more Approval elements (for each department that needs to approve).
- Connect the Start Point to the first Approval element, then connect that to the next department’s Approval, and so on, until the final step.
- Configure each Approval element with the correct approver email (for each department) and the email notifications they should receive.
Finish and activate the workflow
- Add an End element at the end of the chain.
- Connect the last Approval element’s outcomes (Approved/Denied) to the End element or to any follow-up email elements you need.
- Make sure the workflow is Enabled under Settings → Workflow (if it’s disabled, click the Gear icon and choose Enable).
If you can share how many departments need to approve and whether they approve in sequence or in parallel, I can outline the exact connection pattern for you step by step.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

When the form is submitted and the Workflow starts, I need to have the form go to all approvers at the same time. I don't need to have Approver #1, then it goes to Approver #2, and so on.

BrandonHi Cheryl,
As long as the "approvers" section has 2 or more approvers, the approval email will get sent to both of them simultaneously. You can set it up like this.
- Go to the workflow page
- Click the blue "Settings" icon on the right side of the approval you have set up. If you need to set up the approval element, go click "add element" on the top left side of the screen and add "Approval."
- Add the necessary approver emails to the "Approvers" section.
That's it! Let us know if you have any questions.
