Issue to change my email account

    Hello

    I need help to change my email account to this email account: alejandro@automationui.com, but got this message:

    This email address is already associated with a Jotform account.

    There was a jotform account tied to this new email account in the past, but deleted it. Actually, I tried to login with that email account and I see a DELETED red rectangle ... so don´t understand why I cannot change it.

    Changing your account email address only takes a minute. Let me show you how: 

    1. On your Workspace page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image in the top-right corner of the screen.

    2. In the Dropdown menu that comes up, click on your name.

    3. On the right side of the page, under the Email section, click on Edit.

    4. Next, enter the new email address you want to use and click on Save

    5. In the Confirmation window that opens, enter the Authentication Code sent to your new email and click on Verify.

    I did all that, but in step 5, when typing the new email account I got the message:

    This email address is already associated with a Jotform account

    The message "This email address is already associated with a Jotform account" appears because the email you want to use is still linked to a deleted Jotform account. Unfortunately, you cannot use an email address that is tied to a deleted account for a new or existing account.

    Here’s what you can consider doing:

    • If you have access to the deleted account's email, you might try to recover that account instead of creating a new one.
    • If the deleted account is no longer accessible, the email address remains reserved in our system and cannot be reassigned to another account.
    • As a workaround, you could use a different email address that is not currently associated with any Jotform account.

    Could recover that account, but how can I move all my forms to the new account?

    You can move your forms from the old (recovered) account to your new account using the built‑in form transfer feature.

    Here’s how to transfer forms from the old account to the new one:

    • Log in to the OLD account (the one that currently owns the forms).
    • Go to your Workspace page and click your Profile Picture/Avatar in the top‑right, then click Settings.
    • In the left menu, click Data to open the Data page.
    • Scroll down and click the Transfer Forms button.
    • Enter the verification code that was sent to the old account’s registered email address.
    • Search for and select the forms you want to move (you can include up to 15 forms in one request).
    • Enter the email address of your NEW account as the recipient (the account that should own the forms) and click Transfer Forms.

    Then, from your NEW account, accept the transfer:

    • Log in to the NEW account.
    • Go to Settings again (Profile Picture/Avatar → Settings) and open the Data page.
    • Under Pending Transfers, click View Details, or click the View Transfer Request link in the email you receive.
    • Enter the verification code sent to your new account’s email.
    • Review the list of forms and click Accept, then click Accept again to confirm.

    A few important notes:

    • A single transfer request can include up to 15 forms, and you can create up to 20 transfer requests within 60 minutes.
    • When you transfer a form, its settings and styles move with it, and custom form URLs are automatically updated to the new owner.
    • You can’t transfer Sign Documents, Workflows, AI Agents, or Apps, and transfers to/from HIPAA-friendly or different-region accounts aren’t allowed.
    • If you see an error that a form is connected to other Jotform products (Apps, Workflows, AI Agents, Tables, Boards), you’ll need to disconnect those first before transferring.

    Also, each Jotform account can only be associated with a single email address. If you want to transfer your account's ownership, you can change your account's email address from the Account Settings page. Let me know if that's the case for you.

    If you tell me which account (old vs. new) you want to keep long‑term, I can suggest the cleanest sequence (transfer first, then delete, etc.).
