jjj3mitchellHi, I've spent a lot of time, including with Podo, trying to find a way to remove the labels from answers in the PDF builders. I have MANY fields and would like to remove the labels from many of them (but not all of them). Can you help me understand how to do this? Either one-by-one, or in mass? Thanks so much.

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Joe,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:
You can remove the labels from answers in your PDF by customizing the PDF Editor, but this needs to be done one-by-one for each field as there is no mass option to selectively remove labels from many fields while keeping others.
Here’s how to do it:
- Open your form and go to the PDF Editor.
- Select the field in the PDF layout where you want to remove the label.
- Click on the label text and delete it or hide it as per the editor's options.
- Repeat this for each field you want to customize.
This way, you can remove labels from many fields individually while keeping others intact.
If you want to hide all labels in the form (not selectively), you can use the Advanced Designer in Form Builder to hide all field labels, but this applies to the form view, not the PDF specifically.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

jjj3mitchellOK, I did see the option in PDF Settings to remove ALL labels. Is there a way to add back in those that I want to see?

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Joe,
Regarding the option in PDF Settings to remove all labels, unfortunately, once you remove all labels using that setting, there is no direct way to selectively add back some labels in the PDF Editor.
The removal of all labels is a global setting that applies to the entire PDF output. To have selective control over which labels appear, you would need to customize the PDF layout manually by editing each field individually in the PDF Editor, as mentioned before.
This means you can either:
- Remove all labels at once using PDF Settings (but cannot add back selectively afterward), or
- Manually remove labels one-by-one for each field you want without affecting others.
If you want some labels to show and others not, the manual one-by-one customization in the PDF Editor is the way to go.
Give it a try and let us know if you need further assistance.

jjj3mitchellOK. I'll do it one by one. But where exactly do you do this for a given field?

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Joe,
You can easily change which form fields appear in your PDF document using the PDF Editor, and those changes will reflect in the downloaded version as well. Let me show you how to remove labels for individual fields:
- Open your form in PDF Editor.
- Click on the form field in the PDF layout where you want to remove the label.
- Click on the label text and delete it or hide it as per the editor's options.
- Repeat this for each field you want to customize.
To delete a field entirely from the PDF:
- Click on the form field you want to delete.
- Click on the Trash Can icon under the field to delete it.
Here are some visuals to guide you:

jjj3mitchellOK, I can see where I can just delete the label text. I want the answer to be left-aligned. Why does it do that some of the time, but not other times? And how can I force it to left align so there's no empty space to the left of the answer?
-
Podo: Support SpecialistHi Joe,
The reason the answer alignment varies in your PDF is due to how the PDF Editor handles different field types and their layout settings. Sometimes, leftover space appears to the left of the answer if the label was removed but the answer field itself retains its original positioning or padding.
To force left alignment of the answers and remove any empty space to the left, you can adjust the alignment settings and element positioning in PDF Editor. Let me show you how:
- Open your form in PDF Editor.
- Select the answer field you want to align.
- Check the field's alignment settings in the properties or settings panel. For some widgets like the Configurable List, you can set the Question Alignment to Top Aligned or left-aligned.
- Resize and move the answer field by dragging its edges or corners to remove any empty space on the left side.
- Preview the PDF to confirm the answer is left-aligned with no extra space.
Here is an example of adjusting the Configurable List widget alignment in PDF Editor:
- In PDF Editor, select the Configurable List widget and click the Gear icon.
- In the Configurable List Settings on the right, under Question Alignment, select Top Aligned.
Also, you can move and resize elements freely in PDF Editor by dragging them to your desired location and adjusting their size using the small box at the bottom-right corner of the element.

Give these steps a try and let us know if you need any further help.
