I'm attempting to make an apparel order form that allows the buyer to select sizes, colors, etc. When I have done this in the past there hasn't been a good way to pull inventory data to help me know the quantity of each selection. For example, there is no data that can be pulled to know how many Large White shirts were ordered which would help me know how many to order on my end. Is there a better way to do this and to be able to export data?

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

To effectively track inventory for apparel orders with options like sizes and colors, Jotform offers a couple of useful features:

    • Inventory Widget: This widget allows you to manage stock and availability in real time. You can specify available quantities for each item, and the widget automatically updates the inventory as orders come in. When items run out, they become unselectable. You can add an Inventory widget for each product or variation you want to track.
    • Product Options and Sub-Products: In your Product List field, you can add product options such as size and color and then turn these options into sub-products. This way, you can track quantities of specific variations like Large White shirts separately. This setup also allows you to export detailed order data showing quantities per variation.

    Here’s how to get started:

    1. Add the Inventory Widget: In Form Builder, go to Add Element > Widgets tab, search for Inventory, and add it to your form. Configure the available quantity and other settings for each product.
    2. Set Up Product Options as Sub-Products: Click on your Product List field, open the Shopping Cart icon, edit a product, add product options (like size and color), and toggle on "Create Sub Products from Options" to track each variation separately.
    3. Export Data: After collecting submissions, you can export your form data to see the quantities ordered for each size and color variation, helping you manage your inventory effectively.

This approach will give you a clear view of how many Large White shirts or any other variation have been ordered, directly from your submission data.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
