    Hi Abdul,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

A Unique Name in Jotform is an identifier for a field that is automatically generated when the field is added to the form. It is used to reference the value of that field in various places such as URL parameters, emails, Thank You Pages, and Paragraph elements.

Regarding the Submission Date, its Unique Name is the identifier you would use to reference the submission date value in your form submissions or integrations.

To find the exact Unique Name of the Submission Date field in your form, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder.
    2. Select the Submission Date field.
    3. Look for the Unique Name property in the field settings or properties panel. This is usually displayed as a field identifier or name.

You can also refer to this guide on how to find field IDs and names for more detailed instructions.

If you want to use the Submission Date in emails, URL parameters, or other references, use this Unique Name as the key.

Let me know if you need help locating it within your specific form.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Abdul,

The Submission Date is a system-generated field in Jotform, and its Unique Name is typically used within curly braces { } when referencing it in emails, Thank You pages, or other places.

The Unique Name for the Submission Date is {submission_date}.

You can use this tag to reference the submission date value in your form notifications, autoresponders, or anywhere else in your form where field tags are supported.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.

    Hi Abdul,

The Submission Date isn’t typically included in notification emails or on the Thank You page, so I’m checking internally with our team to confirm the exact field name used for it in the table. I’ll follow up with you as soon as I have that information. Also, can you explain a bit more about where you wanted to use this?

In the meantime, please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

    Hi Abdul,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this. I just heard back from our team. While date and time stamps aren’t included as default fields in email templates or thank you pages, adding the {DATE} tag is a simple way to show the submission date. Checkout the screenshots below to see my results:

The provided solution for the current date, but i am looking for a specific date at a specific time of submission of the form, so that it could determine that someone submitted the data on (Date of Submission), and now the status of this submission is being updated on (Current Date)

    Hi Abdul,

The system tag {submissionDate} is what captures the actual timestamp of each submission. When you add this tag to your email template or Thank You page, it will display the precise submission date and time for that entry.

This way, you can show when the form was originally submitted and then separately reference the current date for status updates. If you’d like, I can share steps on formatting {submissionDate} so it appears in the style you prefer.

Reach out again if there’s anything else we can help you with.

    Hi Abdul,

When I tested the special {DATE} tag, it correctly returned the timestamp of the form submission. Take a look at the screenshots below:
