Asked on April 22, 2026 at 11:37 AM

Nobody has access to my jotform but me! I set up the form and it works and is live never entering jotform again and then when I access the QR code the next day it does not work and the form is gone! It gets move to the trash all by itself within the jotform system. I used Podo and it said to check the trash in Workspace and sure enough there were 4 days of submissions for the last 4 days and forms. What is happening here and I am very frustrated as I started this on Monday and is now Wednesday and have been sending it to my marketing company and keep having the marketing company revise my marketing materials with yet another QR code and URL which is costing money for each revision and stagnating my advertising campaign! Why does my QR code go dead and form moved to trash every 24 hours? Joe Montoya joemontoyacb@gmail.com 209-740-1447

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Regarding your issue where your form is moving to the trash automatically every 24 hours and the QR code becomes inactive, this behavior is not typical for Jotform. Forms that are deleted or moved to trash usually remain there for 30 days before permanent deletion unless manually purged. There is no automatic feature that moves forms to trash every 24 hours.

However, there are a few things to check that might cause this:

    • Verify if there is any automation, integration, or third-party tool connected to your account that might be deleting or moving the form to trash.
    • Check if there is any account setting related to automatic deletion or cleanup that might be affecting your forms.
    • Ensure that no one else has access to your account or workspace who might be deleting the form.

For the QR code, once a form is moved to trash, the QR code linked to that form will no longer work because the form is inactive or deleted.

You can restore deleted forms from the Trash in your Workspace within 30 days. To restore a deleted form:

    1. Go to your Workspace page.
    2. Click on the Trash tab at the bottom-left side of the screen.
    3. Filter to show only Forms.
    4. Select the form you want to restore and click Restore.

If this automatic deletion continues, it might be best to review any connected apps or automations or check your account settings for any auto-delete features enabled.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I just go into jotform and create a form and QR code without doing anything else, so why does you suggested help apply as shown below.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for your clarification. If you are creating a form and QR code without any additional automations or integrations, and the form still moves to trash automatically every 24 hours, this is unusual behavior for Jotform.

One possible cause could be the Auto-Delete Submissions feature, which automatically deletes form submissions after a set period. However, this feature affects submissions, not the form itself. The form moving to trash automatically is not a standard Jotform function.

Here are some things to consider:

    • Check your Account Settings under the Data section to see if there is a default auto-delete period set for submissions across all forms.
    • Verify if the form itself has the Auto-Delete Submissions setting enabled, which deletes submissions but does not delete the form.
    • Ensure no one else has access to your account or workspace who might be deleting the form.
    • Review if there are any connected apps or third-party tools that might be affecting your forms, even if you haven't set them up intentionally.

Forms moving to trash automatically every 24 hours without any user action or automation is not a known Jotform feature, so this might require further investigation.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Joe,

I understand your frustration with the form moving to trash automatically despite following previous suggestions.

Let me show you how to check and set up auto-deletion of form submissions, which might be related to your issue:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top.
    2. Click on Show More Options.
    3. In the Auto-Delete Submissions section, check if Enable is selected.
    4. If enabled, review the Deletion Period and adjust it as needed.
    5. Click Next and then Yes, Update to save changes.

If you want to permanently delete submissions by emptying the Trash folder in Jotform Inbox, here’s how:

    1. In Jotform Inbox, click on the Three Lines icon on the upper right side.
    2. Click on Trash to open the Trash tab.
    3. Click on Empty Trash Now.
    4. Confirm by clicking Delete Forever.

    Hi Joe,

Jotform support will do the best we can to help resolve your issue. We do not offer calls, but we would be happy to help you here as much as we can.

I tried checking in my subscription and don't see any forms being automatically deleted. I understand that you said this takes around 24 hours, but have you noticed forms being deleted in any shorter of a time frame? I want to see if this this behavior is replicable in your account.

On that note, we’ll need your permission to access your account. Don’t worry, you can turn it off again once we’re done. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In the top-right corner of your Workspace page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. Then, in the Dropdown menu that opens, click on Settings.

    3. Next, in the panel on the left, click on the Security tab.

    4. If you haven’t opened your Security page in a while, it’ll ask you to verify. To do that, click on Send Verification Code.

I develop the form which is easy enough, establish the QR code, check and
see if it working and then send of to my marketing designer for a buyer
postcard development. I save the QR code along with the URL and send to my
guy who adds it to my marketing piece for approval and I check it to see if
it is working and it does. I wait till the next morning to see it is still
works and it says I don't have a form and want me to create one all over
again. When verifying to see if it works when downloaded to my desktop I do
a mock submission then check the submissions in Jotform and do it a
couple of times, and the submissions are there. The next day everything is
    gone!

Thank you for the explanation and support access! Would you allow us to create a test form on your account? I want to see if this behavior is replicable across a dummy form.

Let us know and we can proceed.

Please note; that if you don't see the 4 pages in the trash in te
workspace, I deleted them this morning to start all over again. Then,
I decided to get in touch with support first before starting all over again
as I have wasted hours on all of this which has put me behind this week as
I am swamped with 5 new listings.

    Hi Joe,

I checked your account and can confirm that the form in question was updated on April 21, 2026, then deleted the same day and purged on April 22, 2026. Once a deleted form is purged, it can no longer be recovered from our servers, so at this point the best next step would be to create a new form.

When you mentioned that your forms are going to Trash every 24 hours, did you mean that another form was created and now also can’t be found in your account? If you’re still able to share the URLs of the forms that were also deleted on their own, we’ll take a closer look.

Once we hear back from you, we can help you sort this out.

As a suggestion to save time and money on my end, if you are running a
test to see if it sticks after midnight and into tomorrow, could you just
build the for that will stay live and then I could just revise it and have
the confidence that it will stay before going to print on my real estate
marketing mailer which is 1200 pieces monthly at $.42 cents a piece? It
would save time as undoubtedly we will have to test it and recheck on
Friday to be safe and see if it remains live before pressing the finish
design and print option with my marketing design company.

    Hi Joe,

I understand the request, but the support team will not build a production form unless you want us to clone an existing one. For now, I have created a test form on your account with nothing in it. We will check in later to determine if the behavior occurs.

Also, are you able to provide this information? "When you mentioned that your forms are going to Trash every 24 hours, did you mean that another form was created and now also can’t be found in your account? If you’re still able to share the URLs of the forms that were also deleted on their own, we’ll take a closer look."

good morning and thanks so much for your help thus far. Recap: for 4 days straight, I would create a new form with QR code and the form would be gone the following day. On the 4th day PODO your AI help bot suggested taking look in the trash and guided me there and I purged all 4 forms in the trash to start over once again. Then I was going to start a new form, but being I am under time constraints for the marketing designer to finish the project as they were involved all 4 forms I was going to us which fail, I decided to reach out to you and here we are. If you test form was developed yesterday, I see that your test form survived the night and is still live today and am hopeful it stays! I saw your message you cannot develop a from for the client, but can clone a form! I revised your test form into the form I want it to look like and is now in Jotform. Can you please clone that form so I can get my marketing designer off my back?

I also want a notification text to the developed QR code when a potential submission is entered by a prospect. 1+209-740-1447 if possible?

I see it and is shown as a clone, but how do I publish it as I don't see a tab for that. I want to check and get the QR code and URL so I can test it and enter a mock submission to make sure I receive it in my Jotform workspace, or do I use the original test from yesterday that you did that I modified and you cloned? I need get it off to my marketing company so we can go live and finish the project as soon as possible as they are on my back and charging me for each modification of this Jotform addition and the only thing they are waiting on!
