Our jot form link doesn't open sometimes

    When we send a Jot Form to our applicants and we share with them the link, one out of ten people will not be able to open the link. They try to copy and paste the link in an internet browser on their phone. They cannot open it from their phone through a text message. This is a reoccurring problem. How do we fix this?

    Hi William,

    Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. I tried opening the form and was able to do so. When the users are not able to open the form, what happens on their end? Does an error occur, does the link not open anything, or what happens? If possible, could you get a screenshot of what happens when they cannot open the link?

    Also, does this only happen on mobile devices, or does this happen on desktop as well?

    This only happens on mobile devices. And its only a select few but it happens more often causing issues in our hiring process. I'd say out of 10 mobile users there is 1 that cannot open the link. Sometimes when they try to re-open it will work on the second try but there are multiple cases of them trying to copy and paste the link into another web browser and it still doesn't work. We're just trying to figure this out because obviously this is a problem for the hiring process.

    Hi William,

    Do you know if this is happening on an Android device or an iPhone device? Can you tell us the exact device where this is happening so we can test this further? I tried it on an Android device, and it is working as expected. When the link is pressed on the messaging app, the mobile device opens it in the browser. The error message in the screenshot says Could Not Find An Appropriate Application, which means it cannot find a browser to open the link.

    I believe its happening on android phones. Can you try sending it to 10 or 15 people in your contact list to see if they are able to open the link? I would imagine a couple of those are going to say that they are not going to be able to open the link just to test it properly. Like I said, this issue is sporadic; it's not for everyone, so nine out of ten people are going to be able to open up the link.

    Can you verify if every user who is not able to open up the form experiences that specific "Could Not Find An Appropriate Application" error? We will try investigating it further on our end once we know that is what is occurring.
