    Hi Team,

Have been trying this a number of different ways starting with workflows but can't seem to get it working. I'm hoping to have fields from a Jotform submission map to a Jotform Sign agreement and flow. Can see how to get the signer added from the form, but not map data from the form submission to my PDF to send.

Any quick help would be appreciated!

    Chris.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Let me help you with mapping fields from a Jotform submission to a Jotform Sign agreement PDF.

To achieve this, you need to enable Jotform Sign automation on your form. Here's how to do it:

    1. Ensure your form has a Signature field.
    2. In Form Builder, go to Settings and then Jotform Sign.
    3. Toggle Enable Jotform Sign Automation on.
    4. Select the email field from your form using the Select Email Field dropdown.
    5. Select a PDF document created in PDF Editor using the Select a PDF Document dropdown. If you don't have a PDF document yet, you can create one by clicking the +Create New PDF Document button.
    6. If desired, toggle Send Audit Trail on to include the audit trail with the signed document.

When you upload your PDF to Jotform Sign, you can use the Detect Fields button to automatically detect fields in your PDF that correspond to your form fields. You can also add fields manually if needed.

Mapping works by linking online form fields to PDF fields. When you add a field to your online form, a corresponding field appears on the PDF, which you can position and resize as needed.

This setup allows data from your form submission to be automatically mapped to your PDF document in the signing flow.

For more detailed steps and visuals, you can check the guide on How to Upload Your PDF to Jotform Sign and How to Link Your Online Form Fields with PDF Through Smart PDF Forms.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Need to have this so a semi-completed PDF with mapped fields goes to the approval to then add further information, and send back to the original form submitter.

    Hi Chris,

Let me help you with setting up a workflow where a semi-completed PDF with mapped fields goes to approval for further information to be added, and then is sent back to the original form submitter.

Here’s how to do it using Jotform Workflows and Jotform Sign:

    1. Add the Sign Document element in Workflow Builder by clicking Add Element and selecting Sign Document.
    2. Connect the Sign Document element to other elements in your workflow to define the flow.
    3. Set up the Sign Document element by selecting the PDF document you want signed and assigning signer roles (name and email). You can link the signer email dynamically from form fields.
    4. Configure signing order if multiple signers are involved, so the document is signed sequentially.
    5. Set outcomes for the Sign Document element to define different paths based on whether the document is signed, declined, or canceled.
    6. Use the Approve & Sign element if you want approvers to add further information and provide their signature as part of the approval process.
    7. After approval and signing, send the document back to the original form submitter by including an email notification or workflow step that sends the completed document to the submitter’s email address.

You can track the signing status and download signed documents from the Sign Inbox.

For detailed steps and visuals, you can refer to the Jotform guides on Requesting Electronic Signatures with Jotform Workflows and Setting Up the Approve & Sign Element.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
