Jotform Tables: A confirmation action for action buttons

    Hi Jotform Team,

I’d like to suggest adding an optional confirmation step for action buttons in Jotform Tables, particularly for actions like sending emails. A confirmation popup would help prevent accidental clicks and give users a chance to verify their intent before triggering the action.

Ideally, this could be configurable so users can enable or disable confirmations on a per-button basis.

It would also be very helpful to include a clear success notification after an action is completed (for example, “Email sent”), so users have immediate feedback that the action was successful.

This came up while I was setting up “Send Email” buttons for multiple events. During testing, I expected some form of confirmation or success message, and ended up triggering the same email multiple times because there was no feedback indicating it had already been sent. That also raised concern about the potential for accidental clicks when working with live customer data.

As a temporary workaround, I moved the column to the far end of the table to reduce the chance of misclicks. I also tried hiding the field and accessing the action through the row menu, but hidden fields are not accessible there.

Adding confirmation and feedback would make these actions much safer and more intuitive to use.

Thank you for considering this improvement.

    Best regards,

    Jake Hawley

    Hi Jake,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

In Jotform Tables, the Send Email action button is used to manually send notification or autoresponder emails with data from your table. After sending an email, the button changes to show a message with the timestamp indicating when the email was sent. You can then click the Downward Arrow icon next to that message and select Resend if needed.

Here’s how to add a Send Email Action Button column:

    1. Click on the Add button at the end of the table to insert a new column.
    2. Select the Buttons tab in the Add a New column window.
    3. Choose Send Email and click on Next.
    4. Enter a name for the new column, then click on Next.
    5. Click on Create an Email to set up a new email template, then save it and complete the column setup.

    Jotform Tables also lets you:

    • Send emails to multiple entries at once by selecting entries, clicking the Three Dots icon, then going to Buttons.
    • Edit the action button later by opening the column menu and selecting Edit Action Button.
    • Customize the button style by selecting Customize Button Style from the column menu.

The knowledge base does not include information about adding an optional confirmation popup before the action runs. It also does not include any additional details beyond the timestamp message shown after the email is sent.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

If using the Three Dots icon, then going to Buttons, there is no timestamp or any discernable way to know if it sent or not until scrolling to the applicable column. My point stands that it would be smart and only improve user experience to include an optional confirmation popup.

    Hi Jake,

In Jotform Tables, when you use the Three Dots icon and go to Buttons, the available information in the knowledge base says that the action can be triggered for multiple entries at once. It also says that after sending an email, the Send Email button in the corresponding column changes to show a message with the timestamp indicating when the email was sent.

The knowledge base does not include any additional details about a separate confirmation popup for that menu action, or any other success notification beyond the timestamp message shown in the action button column.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
