I am using the Autocompleted Address widget.

I want to use the "city" field in conditional logic

I don't see a way to specify the "city" field in a condition

I could copy it to another field, but the "Update/Calculate Field" also cannot copy a subfield.

I could reference it in a paragraph element using {address:city}. That works with the address field but not with the Autocompleted Address field. It copies out all the fields.

This is my test form: https://www.jotform.com/build/250917046915056

Podo was a waste of time. Podo said its possible, but turns out it isnt 🙁

Can you tell me how to do it?

    Thanks!

    Hi Trees_admin,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

The information I have for Autocompleted Address says that it lets you select specific address elements to autocomplete in Form Builder, and then you can customize the address field labels and save the widget settings.

What I do not have in the knowledge base is a confirmed way to use the city subfield from Autocompleted Address in conditional logic or to copy that subfield into another field. I also do not have a confirmed method for referencing {address:city} with that widget specifically.

I don't know this information and our support team will handle your request.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Trees_admin,

In Jotform, neither the Address field nor the Autocomplete Address widget allows direct use of subfields like City in Conditional Logic. The Conditions builder does not support selecting Address subfields such as City, State, etc. Since subfields aren’t accessible in logic, the reliable approach is to separate City Field. Add a Short Text Entry field for City and use that in your conditions. You can:

    • Ask users to confirm or re-enter their city, or
    • Make it required alongside the address field

This is currently the most stable and supported solution. At the moment, there’s no native way to extract subfield values into another field for logic use within Jotform. We understand this limitation can be restrictive, and we’ve passed similar feedback to our Product team for consideration.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
