    Hello,

We need the ability to add conditional formatting to the pdf form generated by a submission.

We have a complex form with a variety of informational boxes and entire sections that would not be visible to users based on their specific details. If all section headers and informational boxes appear on the pdf generated, the form becomes unreadable.

Is there conditional logic available on the pdf generator?
Can conditional logic pass through from the form to the pdf generator? (i.e. if the customer doesn't see a page or section, no part of that page or section will appear on the pdf).

This is the single feature that is preventing our organization from full adoption of Jotform.

    Thanks,
    -dave

    Hi dave,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Based on the information available, conditional logic is available for online forms, including options to show or hide fields, skip or hide pages, and change email recipients. The available information also confirms that you can add multiple PDF document templates and send different PDFs based on form conditional logic.

What is not confirmed in the knowledge base is whether conditional logic from the form passes through to the PDF generator so that hidden pages or sections are automatically removed from the generated PDF.

The knowledge base does confirm these related points:

    • Show/Hide Field can change form element visibility.
    • Skip To/Hide a Page can skip or hide pages in a multipage form.
    • PDF Editor can be used to create multiple PDF document templates.
    • Conditional logic can be used to send different PDF attachments based on answers.

I don't know this information and our support team will handle your request.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi EPI_MX,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help.

The conditional logic cannot actually affect the PDF document content. The report will show all the content from the form, even if there are conditions. An alternative is to create multiple PDF documents and edit each one accordingly. Here are the steps to add a new PDF document to your form with the existing data:

    1. In the PDF Editor, click on the New PDF button.

    2. Then click on Use Default Layout.

    3. The next step is to edit the PDF content as needed.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

This solution will not work for us.

Please send this request to your developers as a feature request. I've seen multiple similar requests on your help forum.

This is one of the few instances where Jotform is lagging behind competitors and preventing our full adoption of Jotform as our forms solution.

    Thanks,

    Hi Dave,

While that feature isn’t available in Jotform right now, I’ve sent your request to our Developers for review. When or if it gets developed will depend on their current workload, how possible it is, and how much demand there is from other users. If/when we have any updates, we’ll follow up here and keep you posted.
