    Hi Jotform Support Team,

I would like to ask regarding the Autocomplete Widget functionality.

Currently, I am trying to use the autocomplete field to capture data in one form and then pass (prefill) that value into the next form (multi-step or separate form flow).

Is the Autocomplete Widget supported for prefill in another form? If yes, what is the correct configuration to pass the selected value to the next form?

    Hi Mowilex,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Based on the available information, Widgets are not supported for prefill in Prefill. The knowledge base lists Widgets under the unsupported form elements for both Manual Prefill and Form Prefill.

For your use case, the supported fields for Form Prefill include:

    • Full Name
    • Email
    • Address
    • Short Text
    • Long Text
    • Fill in the Blank
    • Phone
    • Number
    • Date Picker
    • Time
    • Dropdown
    • Single Choice
    • Multiple Choice
    • Scale Rating
    • Spinner

If you need to pass a selected value to another form, the value should be stored in a supported field type rather than in the Autocomplete Widget itself.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Mowilex,

You can't pass data from the Autocomplete widget to a field on another form, but we do have a workaround. You can pass data from the Autocomplete widget to the short text field in the first form, and then pass data from the short text field to the second form. Let me show you how to pass data from the widget to a short text field with conditional logic:

    1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.

    2. Next, click on Conditions on the left of the page.

    3. Now, click on Update/Calculate Field to create your condition.

    4. Set the conditions like you see below and click on Save:

After that, you can pass data to your other form. You can also use action buttons on the thank you page to pass data to another form. This guide will show you how. You can also check out the Prefill User Guides.

Reach out again if there’s anything else we can help you with.
