Request for Assistance Restoring Deleted Form from Backup Export

Hello Jotform Support,

We need assistance recovering a form that was accidentally deleted this month.

Last month, we exported a backup of all the forms we have from our Jotform account. We would like to know the correct process for restoring or importing that backup so we can recover the deleted form and its structure.

Could you please advise on:

1. How to properly import a previously exported form backup.
2. Whether the backup file can fully recreate the deleted form.
3. Any specific steps we should follow to restore it successfully after extracting the zip files

Here’s how to do it:

1. Open your Workspace.
2. Click on Trash on the lower-left side of the page.
3. Select the deleted form you want to restore.
4. Click on Restore.

The knowledge base also says that forms in Trash stay there for 30 days before being permanently deleted unless they are purged manually. Forms deleted or purged from Trash cannot be restored.

If the form is no longer in Trash, the knowledge base does not provide a recovery process for it.

We have a Jotform Backup App that should be used to restore the forms from a backup file. But I've tested it, and it looks like it is not working. I've gone ahead and reached out to our relevant team about this. We’ll get back to you as soon as we get an update from them.
