We have a signature field on our JotForm in classic layout. We have a dropdown field with two options, YES and NO. We have conditional logic to mark the Signature field as NOT REQUIRED when the dropdown is equal to YES. However, the signature field is still saying that it is a required field even when the dropdown is equal to YES. We have tried several different things and none are working:

    1. Set Signature field to REQUIRED in the builder and add a condition to mark the signature field as NOT REQUIRED when the dropdown is equal to YES. This is still forcing the signature field, no matter the value of the dropdown.
    2. Set Signature field to NOT REQUIRED in the builder and add a condition to mark the signature field as REQUIRED when the dropdown is equal to NO. This is allowing submissions without a signature no matter the value of the dropdown.

All of this was working totally fine before this weekend, so you must what has changed on JotForm's end with the Signature fields to cause conditional logic to break? Please assist.

    Hi 2A,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Regarding your issue with the signature field conditional logic in the classic layout, here is how conditional logic for required fields generally works in Jotform:

To conditionally toggle a field's required status:

    1. Go to Settings in the Form Builder.
    2. Select Conditions on the left side.
    3. Add a new Enable/Require/Mask Field condition.
    4. Set the condition: For example, IF your dropdown is equal to YES, DO mark the signature field as NOT required.
    5. Save the condition.

From your description, the logic you applied seems correct. However, if it suddenly stopped working, it might be due to a recent update or a temporary issue on Jotform's end affecting signature fields and conditional logic.

Here are some tips to troubleshoot:

    • Make sure there are no conflicting conditions that override each other.
    • Try clearing your browser cache or testing in a different browser.
    • Double-check that the signature field is correctly referenced in the condition.
    • Ensure the dropdown field values exactly match the condition values (case-sensitive).

If the problem persists, it might be related to a known issue or change in Jotform's platform affecting signature fields' conditional logic.

Unfortunately, the knowledge base does not specify any recent changes that would cause this behavior, so this might require further investigation by the Jotform team.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

We have already "conversed" with the AI assistant and tried all troubleshooting steps, as described in my first post. This is definitely a change on JotForm's end. Will a member of the team (a real human) please look into this?

    Hi 2A Legal,

I would be happy to help with your issue. I created a clone of your form with the same conditions, and I was able complete the form without needing to sign or agree to the Member agreement.

Can you capture a video of what’s going on and share it? Loom works great, or you can upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Hello Brandon,

I have attached a screen recording of the issue we are having on our live form from uploaded to Google Drive. I used the "Preview" function within Jotform as well, and we are seeing the same issue there. I am not sure why your clone did not have the same issues.

    Hi 2A Legal,

Thank you for the video! I was able to replicate the issue in your site as well. I have filed a bug with our developer team, and they are looking into it. We will get back to you when there is an update.
