I'm creating a Production Order form through Jotform. IF our clients are requesting a commercial production, then I want the File Upload field to include a "script template" .docx file.

That way, when our production team begins work on the project, a new script file from the blank template has already been created, existing alongside all other upload assets within our integrated workspace.

    Hi Dylan,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Regarding your request to have a "script template" .docx file included by default in the File Upload field when clients request a commercial production, Jotform does not have a built-in feature to automatically include or preload a default file in the File Upload field for users to download or use as a template.

However, you can consider these alternatives:

    • You can add a link to the script template .docx file somewhere on your form, such as in a paragraph or section, so clients can download it manually before uploading their completed script.
    • Use the PDF Embedder widget to display a PDF version of the template within the form for reference, but this won't create a new file in the upload field.
    • After form submissions, your production team can access the uploaded files alongside any template files you provide externally.

If you want the template to be part of the workflow, sharing it as a downloadable link on the form is the best approach currently available.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
