JaneMcFaddenHi there,
I hope you’re well — and thank you again for your help so far, it’s definitely improved things a lot.
I’ve noticed a few remaining inconsistencies with scoring across a few of my forms and was hoping you could take another look:
- For this form:
- The maximum score is showing as 111, but it should be 108.
- For this form:
- There are 21 questions, so the maximum score should be 84, but when I test it, it comes out as 87.
- For this form:
- When I calculate the max score, it shows 72, but based on the answers it’s coming through as 90.
Could you also let me know — are the forms themselves calculating correctly and I should instead adjust the answer ranges in the automated emails, or are the calculations within the forms still off?
It feels like things are close, but something is still slightly off in how the totals are being calculated.
I’d really appreciate your help in tightening this up.
Thanks again for your support — it’s been hugely helpful.
Warmly,
Jane

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Jane,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Regarding the inconsistencies in scoring across your forms, the issue could stem from how the calculations are set up within the forms or how the answer ranges are defined in the automated emails. To clarify:
- The maximum score displayed by the form is based on the calculation logic configured in the form fields.
- If the maximum score is showing differently than expected, it may indicate that the calculation formulas or the assigned values to the answers need to be reviewed and adjusted.
- The answer ranges in automated emails are separate from the form's internal calculations and should reflect the scoring logic accurately. If the form calculations are correct, then adjusting the answer ranges in the emails would be the next step.
To tighten up the scoring and ensure accuracy, I recommend reviewing the calculation settings within each form to verify that the assigned values and formulas match your intended scoring system. After confirming that, check the automated email settings to make sure the answer ranges correspond correctly to the calculated scores.
If you want, I can guide you on how to review and adjust these calculations and email settings step-by-step.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Reymae JotForm SupportHi Jane,
I’ve checked your first form, and the maximum score is displaying correctly. It should be 111, since you have 37 question fields connected to the calculation field. You can verify this by multiplying the total number of question fields by the highest calculation value, which is 3. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:
When I checked the second form, I found the reason why the maximum score is showing as 87 instead of 84. One of the question fields has a highest calculation value of 7. To correct the calculation and match the other question fields, you should change this value to 4. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, go to the 13th question field and then click it.
- Click on the Gear icon on its right side.
- Under the Options tab, set the Calculation Value of Definitely agree to 4.
Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:
For the last form, the results are showing correctly. There are 18 question fields, each with a highest calculation value of 4. You can verify this by multiplying the total number of question fields (18) by the highest calculation value (4), which gives a maximum score of 72. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:
