Podo: Support SpecialistHi Ashish,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Regarding your issue with adding a form field in the email subject of your notification, here’s how you can do it:
- Go to your form's Settings tab in the Form Builder.
- Click on the Emails tab on the left panel to see your notification emails.
- Hover over the notification email template you want to edit and click the Pencil icon to open its settings.
- In the Email tab, locate the Subject field. You will see an option labeled + Add form field next to the subject input box.
- Click on + Add form field and select the form field you want to include in the subject line. This will insert the field tag into the subject.
This allows you to dynamically include form data in your email subject line.
If you are unable to click or add a form field, please make sure you are editing the notification email (not autoresponder) and that your form fields are properly set up.
Also, ensure your browser is not blocking any scripts or extensions that might interfere with the form builder interface.
Here is an example of what the email subject section looks like with the + Add form field option:

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Norwyn Enterprise SupportHello Ashish,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand that the Form fields fail to be added as a Subject on the Notification Emails. When I cloned the Form, I wasn't able to replicate the behavior. I've included a screencast of the test result below.
Can you confirm the following details below to help us get to the bottom of the behavior?
- Is this happening to the Expenses Claim Form only or are the other affected Forms?
- If there are other affected Forms, can you send the URL link to those as well?
- What's the Form field that you're trying to add?
- Can you share a screenshot of the Console Logs when adding the Form field?
Let's walk through the steps on how to load the Console Logs together.
- On the Notification Email page, right-click on the mouse and select Inspect.
- Go to the Console tab and take a screenshot of the logs.
Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

Nikola JotForm SupportHi Ashish,
I'm also unable to replicate the issue.
Which browser and device are you using? Can you try on some other device or use some other browser? Can you also share a screenshot of Console Logs when adding the Form field? We can also test the issue from your account, but to do that, we’ll need your permission to access your account. Don’t worry, you can turn it off again once we’re done. Let me show you how to do it:
1. In the top-right corner of your Workspace page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.
2. Then, in the Dropdown menu that opens, click on Settings.

3. Next, in the panel on the left, click on the Security tab.
4. If you haven’t opened your Security page in a while, it’ll ask you to verify. To do that, click on Send Verification Code.

5. Then, enter the Verification Code you receive in your email.

6. Finally, at the bottom of the page, toggle on Jotform Support Access.
After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.
