Since last week, we have been encountering a critical issue where users are prompted to log in to Jotform to download file attachments from email notifications. This is causing a significant disruption in our workflow, as many of our recipients do not have Jotform accounts and cannot access the files. This problem seems to be affecting all of our active forms. Please investigate this immediately and restore the settings so that attachments can be accessed without a login, as they were previously.

I understand how disruptive that is, and this behavior is controlled by a privacy setting in your Jotform account called “Require Log-in to View Uploaded Files.”

Please follow these steps to allow recipients to download attachments without logging in:

    • Go to your Workspace page and click your Profile Picture/Avatar in the top-right corner.
    • In the menu, click Settings to open your Account Settings page in a new tab.
    • On the left side, go to the Security tab.
    • In the Verification prompt, click Send Verification Code.
    • Check the email address linked to your Jotform account, copy the Verification Code you received.
    • Enter the code in the verification field (and click the green Verify button if shown).
    • Under the Privacy section, uncheck the box for Require Log-in to View Uploaded Files.

You can also review this in our guide: How to Disable Require Log-in to View Uploaded Files. If you find that this option is grayed out or cannot be unchecked, it means your account is under mandatory security rules (for example, HIPAA or KYC verification), and in that case the login requirement cannot be disabled; as a workaround, you can share submissions or files by sharing access to your Tables/Inbox instead.

If you’d like, tell me whether you’re seeing that checkbox and whether it’s clickable, and I can help you with the next step.

    Hi chang.jung,

Thanks for using Jotform. Because your form titled 입사자 안내 및 입사확인서 involve collecting sensitive information, your account was subject to the User Verification (KYC) process. As you successfully completed the process, your identification is verified. For the same reason, your account falls under a stricter security framework. Security settings such as the “Require Log-in to See Submissions” setting are required for your account and won't be disabled as part of our compliance with applicable data protection requirements.

As part of this rollout, this setting will be applied again going forward. While I can’t provide an exact timeline, it is likely to be reintroduced within the coming weeks. We recommend adjusting your workflows accordingly to avoid similar disruptions. If you need to share submission data with others, you may consider the following options:

I understand this is a change from your previous workflow and I appreciate your understanding as we apply these measures to ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
