I created a form and I encrypted it. I forgot the access code. Is there a way I can view the code?

    Hi Maria,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

If you have encrypted your form and forgot the access code, unfortunately, there is no way to view or recover the access code. Jotform uses end-to-end encryption, which means your access code is encrypted on Jotform's end and cannot be accessed or retrieved by anyone, including Jotform support. If you forget your access code, your encrypted data is considered lost.

Here’s what you can do if you want to change the access code for future submissions:

    1. In Form Builder, click Settings on the orange bar at the top.
    2. Under the Form Settings tab, turn OFF the Encrypt Form Data feature.
    3. Enable the form encryption again and create a new access code.

Keep in mind that changing the encryption access code won't give you access to the previous form submissions; it will only apply to submissions after creating the new code.

For more details, you can visit the guide on Encrypted Forms and How to Use Them.

Important: Always store your access code in a safe place or create an easy-to-remember code to avoid losing access to your encrypted data.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
