I created a form (Land Trust Generator) and a PDF document with fields. When someone fills it out, how do I get it to email the PDF the customer and/or me?

    Hi William,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Let me show you how to email the filled PDF document to the customer and/or yourself:

    1. In Form Builder, click Settings on the orange bar at the top.
    2. Click Emails on the left panel, then select the Pencil icon of the Notification email or Autoresponder email template you want to edit.
    3. Go to the Advanced tab and enable the PDF attachment option.
    4. Save your changes.

This will attach the submission PDF to the email sent to the recipient, whether it's you or the customer.

For more detailed guidance, you can also check this guide on how to include submissions as PDF attachment in email notifications.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for checking that and letting me know.

To look into why it didn’t send, I’ll need to confirm the email address you expect the PDF email to go to (yours or the customer’s). What is the exact email address that should be receiving the PDF so we can check for any delivery or bounce issues?

According to our logs, the emails were successfully sent to bill@bronchick.com. Please check your spam or junk folder. Consider whitelisting Jotform's sender email or domain to avoid future issues. Also, make sure your form's email fields and conditions are set up correctly. To prevent email bounce issues, please use valid, correctly formatted email addresses. Here are a few tips to help prevent future email delivery issues:

Feel free to let me know if it’s still not working.

I received a notification that the form was filled out, but not the resulting PDF document

Got it, so you’re getting the notification email but the filled PDF isn’t attached.

Please try removing and re-adding the PDF attachment in your email settings:

    • In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.
    • Click on Emails on the left side of the screen.
    • Hover your mouse over the Autoresponder (and/or Notification, if you also want it for yourself) and click on Edit.
    • Go to the Advanced tab.
    • In the Attach File section, click on Remove File, then re-upload the PDF document you want attached.
    • Click on Save Email at the bottom once you're done.

If your attachments might be larger than 5 MB, you may need to use your own email provider by setting up a custom SMTP as the sender. If you’re also expecting uploaded files as attachments, make sure the Send File Uploads as Attachments toggle is enabled in the Advanced tab.

Try that and tell me if the next submission includes the PDF, or if it’s still missing.

I turned on "attached PDF" to the emails, and filled out the form - nothing.

Thanks for sticking with it, I know this is frustrating.

Since the attached PDF still isn’t arriving, please completely remove and re-add the PDF in your email settings so we can rule out a broken link to the document:

    • In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click Settings.
    • Click Emails on the left side of the screen.
    • Hover your mouse over your Autoresponder email (and do the same for the Notification if you also want it) and click Edit.
    • Go to the Advanced tab.
    • In the Attach File section, click Remove File, then re-upload your Land Trust Generator PDF document.
    • Click Save Email at the bottom.

    Also keep in mind:

    • If the total attachments (PDF + any uploads) are over 5 MB, the PDF may be dropped by the mail server; in that case, consider setting up a custom SMTP with your own email provider as the sender.
    • If you want uploaded files to come through as attachments too, make sure Send File Uploads as Attachments is enabled in the Advanced tab.

After doing this, can you submit the form once more and tell me if the notification email arrives and whether it now has the PDF attached?
