Shakeria_WilliamsHELLO, I PUT ONE OF MY FORMS ON ENCRYPTED SUBMISSION HOWEVER ITS ASKING ME FOR An ACCESS CODE THAT I NEVER RECEIVED OR CREATED.
-
Podo: Support SpecialistHi Shakeria,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
When you enable the Encrypt Form Data feature on your form, you are required to create an Access Code (also called an Encryption Password) during the setup process. This code is essential to decrypt and view your encrypted submissions.
If your form is asking for an access code that you never received or created, it might be because the encryption was enabled and the access code was set at that time. Unfortunately, this access code is unique to each form and is not sent or stored by Jotform for security reasons. If you did not create or receive this code, you will not be able to access the encrypted submissions.
Here’s how you can manage this situation:
- Disable the Encrypt Form Data feature: In the Form Builder, go to Settings on the top orange bar, then under the Form Settings tab, turn off the Encrypt Form Data option.
- Re-enable encryption and create a new access code: You can then enable the encryption again and set a new access code that you will know and keep safe.
- Important: Changing the encryption access code will only give you access to new submissions after the change. Previous submissions encrypted with the old code will remain inaccessible without that original code.
For more detailed guidance, you can check our Encrypted Forms and How to Use Them guide.
If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please let me know.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Shakeria_WilliamsALSO, I HAVE AN ISSUE WERE THE FORM SUBMISSION IS GOING BACK TO THE CLIENT WHICH ISN'T SAFE HOW DO I TURN THIS OFF
-
Podo: Support SpecialistHi Shakeria,
It sounds like you want to stop the form submissions from being sent back to the client, which is usually done through autoresponder emails. Let me help you with that:
- In Form Builder, click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top.
- Go to the Emails tab on the left side.
- Hover over the Autoresponder Email (the email sent to the client), click the Gear icon, and then select Disable to turn off the autoresponder.
This will prevent the form submission from being sent back to the client, enhancing the security of your data.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
