    Hi Jerry,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Can you provide more details about your using scenario so we can understand the situation and I can point you in the right direction.

Mind confirming what you mean by full conversations so I’m clear about that?

As soon as we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with that.

I want a link in a form that allows me to use a number to start a texting session. I would be able to send and receive texts while using the form. This to and from conversation would be a part of the record or form.

    Hi Jerry,

Currently, Jotform does not support sending and receiving full two-way text conversations directly inside the form interface. But you can achieve similar functionality by integrating your form with third-party SMS services like Twilio.

With Twilio integration, you can send and receive SMS messages related to form submissions. The conversation management happens through Twilio's platform, and you can link or store conversation data as part of your form records using custom workflows. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.
    2. Click on Integrations on the left side of the screen.
    3. Select the Twilio Integration, then configure it.

I might not be stating it clearly.

When we go to a site for an installation, we have to “chat” in or text a number that logs us into that site and there is a conversation thread until we end or close the chat or text by receiving a close code. It is not a “form submission.” I want to be able to do this through a form that we create that includes this plus all the other features that we currently use (photos, files, attachments, etc).

    Can this be done?

    Hi Jerry,

Currently, Jotform does not support texting session directly inside the form interface that works like a continuous conversation thread or chat session. The form submissions in Jotform are designed to capture data at a point in time rather than support ongoing real-time conversations.

While Jotform integrates with third-party services like Twilio for SMS messaging and Microsoft Teams for chat notifications, these integrations do not provide a full chat interface embedded inside the form itself with live conversation threads and session management like you described.

You might consider using dedicated chat or messaging platforms alongside Jotform or explore custom development solutions like creating a custom widget.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
