I am having an issue trying to edit my Jotform. Here are the issues: I have in ( ) written what the issues are that I have been trying to fix between the AI bot and one request in which Brandon replied but I am still having issues:

I need to remove the $10 on the gratuity line and what I need is for it to be set up so that customers can choose a gratuity in the amount of $5. oo and up.

(apparently this was set at $10, and it was generating more than what the customer was choosing- exampled- they chose $30 in gratuity, but it was totaling $10 x 30 no just the $30 total)

I need for there to be a standard service fee to process gift certificates to be $1.00

(this appears correctly on the form but is shaded)

I need for the customer to be able to purchase a Gift Certificate starting at $25.oo and up

(this is on the form but shaded)

I need for the calculations to add correctly

(this has been adding in an additional $100 due to what I believe is the $10 in the gratuity box- plus under the $10 starting point it already says $100 which needs to be removed)

I need for the word FREE next to Gift Certificate purchase to be removed

I do not know how to remove the word FREE, but it needs to as it is confusing to customers)

I need for there to be only ONE payment field and not TWO which is currently showing on my form when you look at it on my website www.relaxingharmony.com

(when I added the PayPal section, it automatically added another field which asks for the same information that clients already filled in such as GC amount, gratuity and fee- when I try to delete this it removes the PayPal button so customers can pay)

I have tried for several hours trying to correct the above with no success and need further help and it is challenging as I am trying to work and inbetween clients trying to fix this- can this be changed/corrected on your end???a

    Please advise

    Hi Dolores Lagorga,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Let me help you with the issues you are facing with your form:

    1. Gratuity Line Adjustment: You need to remove the $10 fixed gratuity and allow customers to choose gratuity starting at $5. This requires adjusting the calculation to ensure it reflects the actual gratuity amount selected by the customer, not multiplying $10 by the gratuity amount.

    2. Service Fee for Gift Certificates: The $1.00 service fee should be visible and not shaded, ensuring customers clearly see it as a standard fee.

    3. Gift Certificate Purchase Minimum: Customers should be able to purchase gift certificates starting at $25.00 and up, and this should be clearly enabled and visible on the form.

    4. Calculation Errors: The form is adding an extra $100, likely due to the $10 gratuity setting and an existing $100 starting point. These need to be removed or corrected to reflect accurate totals.

    5. Remove the Word "FREE": The word "FREE" next to Gift Certificate purchase should be removed to avoid confusion.

    6. Single Payment Field: Currently, two payment fields appear after adding PayPal, causing duplication. The form should have only one payment field that collects all necessary payment information without redundancy.

These adjustments involve editing your form's calculation settings, payment integration, and field visibility. Unfortunately, these changes cannot be made directly on our end for your form. However, I can guide you through the steps to fix these issues within your form builder.

If you want, I can provide detailed instructions on how to adjust each of these points in your form. Please let me know if you would like to proceed with that.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Dolores Lagorga,

Let me help you with that. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Adjust Gratuity Calculation:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder.
    2. Locate the gratuity field and the calculation widget or conditions. Remove the fixed $10 multiplier and set the minimum gratuity amount to $5.
    3. Ensure the calculation sums the actual gratuity amount selected by the customer, not multiplying by $10.

    2. Fix Service Fee and Gift Certificate Fields:

    1. Check the properties of the service fee and gift certificate fields. If they appear shaded, they might be set as disabled or read-only. Enable these fields to make them visible and active.
    2. Set the gift certificate minimum purchase amount to $25.

    3. Correct Calculation Errors:

    1. Review all calculation widgets or conditions. Remove any fixed $100 starting points or gratuity multipliers causing extra amounts to be added.
    2. Test the form calculations after adjustments.

    4. Remove the Word "FREE":

    1. Find the label or text element next to the gift certificate purchase field.
    2. Edit the text to remove the word "FREE" to avoid confusion.

    5. Remove Duplicate Payment Fields:

    1. In the Payment Settings, ensure only one payment integration is active.
    2. If PayPal adds a duplicate payment field, check the payment integration settings to combine fields or use one payment field only.
    3. Do not delete the payment field directly if it removes the PayPal button; instead, adjust the form layout or payment settings.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Dolores Lagorga,

The difficulties you’re seeing are caused by a mix of fixed values in calculations, field settings, and payment configuration, which are overriding your intended logic. Here’s how each part should be handled:

Gratuity Calculation, your current setup likely uses a fixed multiplier, which forces the gratuity to increase incorrectly. Update the calculation so it uses the actual selected value from the gratuity field, and set a minimum of $5 directly in the field options or conditions. This ensures the total reflects the correct amount without extra multiplication.

Service Fee and Gift Certificate Fields: If these fields appear shaded, they are set as read-only or disabled, which prevents proper interaction and calculation. Enable them in the field settings so they actively contribute to the total. Also, set the gift certificate minimum to $25 using either field validation or conditional logic.

Calculation errors and extra charges, like a starting $100, come from hardcoded values inside calculation widgets or conditions. Remove these fixed numbers and ensure all totals are based only on selected inputs. After updating, test multiple scenarios to confirm accuracy.

Remove “FREE” Label, the “FREE” label is part of a text or field label, not system logic. Edit the label directly in the builder to remove it so users are not misled. You can try to clone my form here to further investigate this.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
