vladyslavpetrovHi, I found the feature for manually prefilling fields in the form, but I didn’t see a corresponding route in the API docs. I also know that I can prefill fields through query parameters, but that approach doesn’t work for me because I want to prefill some read-only sensitive information.
Is there any way to access this functionality through the API?
If not, can I use the same route as your frontend with my account credentials?

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Vladyslav,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Regarding your question about prefilling fields via the API, Jotform offers a powerful Prefill feature that allows you to prepopulate form fields with data from various sources, including manual input, other forms, tables, and third-party providers.
However, there is no specific API route documented for directly creating prefills via the API. The Prefill feature is mainly accessible through the Form Builder interface under the Publish tab and the Prefill section, where you can manually add prefill data and generate prefill URLs.
For sensitive or read-only information, the Manual Prefill option allows you to create prefilled URLs with data that can be set to Read Only for users, ensuring the data cannot be edited by the form respondents.
You can also prefill fields via URL query parameters, but as you mentioned, this method does not support read-only sensitive data.
Using the same frontend route with your account credentials to access this functionality is not officially supported or documented, so it is not recommended.
Here are some key points about Jotform Prefill:
- Prefill supports various field types such as Full Name, Email, Address, Short Text, Long Text, Phone, Number, Date Picker, Dropdown, Single Choice, Multiple Choice, and more.
- Manual Prefill allows you to create and manage prefilled URLs securely with unique tokens.
- You can set permissions on manual prefilled data to be Read Only if needed.
- Prefill URLs can be shared or sent to users directly from the Form Builder.
