samanthacollegiateconnectionsI have created a form for students to email to a teacher when it is completed. They need to fill in 2 forms and send each form to a different teacher. At the bottom, where it says "submit" I would like to add an option to email a PDF to the teacher. How do I do that?

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Samantha,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Let me help you with that:
To add an option to email a PDF of the completed form to a teacher upon submission, you can use Jotform's email notification or autoresponder feature with PDF attachment enabled. Here's how to do it:
- In Form Builder, click Settings on the top orange bar.
- Go to Emails on the left panel, then either edit an existing Notification/Autoresponder email or add a new one.
- In the email settings, go to the Advanced tab and enable the PDF Attachment option.
- Select the PDF document you want to attach. You can create multiple PDF documents in the PDF Editor if you want different PDFs for different forms or teachers.
- Use conditional logic (under Settings > Conditions) to send the email with the correct PDF attachment to the specific teacher based on the form filled or other criteria.
This way, when students submit each form, the corresponding PDF will be emailed automatically to the designated teacher.
We have a detailed guide on how to include submissions as PDF attachments in email notifications that you might find helpful.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

samanthacollegiateconnectionsI tried that. I do not see an "advanced tab"

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Samantha,
If you do not see an "Advanced" tab in the email settings, here is what you can do to attach a PDF of the submission to the email:
- In Form Builder, click Settings on the top orange bar.
- Go to Emails on the left panel, then click the Pencil icon to edit the Notification or Autoresponder email template.
- Look for the PDF Attachment option within the email settings. Sometimes it may be directly visible without a separate Advanced tab.
- Enable the PDF Attachment option to attach the submission PDF to the email.
- Save your changes.
If the PDF Attachment option is not visible, you can alternatively add a download link of the PDF in the email content by adding the {pdf-link} tag. This will include a clickable link to download the PDF instead of attaching it.
Let me know if you need further help with this.

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Samantha,
Attaching your submissions as PDF files to your Notification Emails is easy. Let me walk you through it:
- In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on the Settings tab.
- In the menu on the left side of the page, click on Emails.
- Hover your mouse over the Notification Email element and look for the Pencil icon to edit it. If you don't see the pencil icon, please ensure you are in the correct section and have the necessary permissions to edit the email notification.
- Click on the Advanced tab, toggle Attach PDF to the On position, and select the PDF file you created.
- Scroll down, click on Save, and you're done.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

samanthacollegiateconnectionsok.. I see now, but where can the student add in the email for the teacher to send the PDF
-
Podo: Support SpecialistHi Samantha,
To allow students to enter the email address of the teacher to whom the PDF should be sent, you need to add an Email field to your form where the student can input the teacher's email address.
Here’s how to do it:
- In Form Builder, add an Email field to your form where students can type the teacher's email address.
- Go to Settings and then Emails.
- Edit the Notification Email that sends the PDF.
- In the Recipients tab, set the Recipient Email to the Email field you added by selecting it from the dropdown menu. This will make the notification email send to the address entered by the student.
- Enable the PDF Attachment option in the email settings so the PDF is attached.
This way, when students submit the form and enter the teacher's email, the PDF will be sent to that address automatically.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
