Hi! I want to have a hidden picklist with a default response that maps to a Contact ONLY if the Contact's value in Salesforce is blank or if it is a new Contact. I don't want it to override an existing value if one exists. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi Parent_Project,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Currently, Jotform's Salesforce integration uses Salesforce's standard matching rules to identify existing records. When a submission is sent to Salesforce, if a duplicate Contact is detected based on these rules, Jotform can update the existing record if you enable the Update an existing record option. But, this update will overwrite the existing values with the new ones from the form submission.

Jotform itself does not have a built-in feature to conditionally map a field only if the Salesforce field is null. While that feature isn’t available in Jotform right now, I’ve sent your request to our Developers for review. When or if it gets developed will depend on their current workload, how possible it is, and how much demand there is from other users. If/when we have any updates, we’ll follow up here and keep you posted.
