    Hi,

I am getting the following accessibility messages for my dropdowns on my form.

However when I look at the Show Text in Empty Option it is enabled and filled in with "Please Select". How do I address this message. - Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

The accessibility warning you are seeing for your dropdown despite having "Please Select" in the "Show Text in Empty Option" is a common message when the form accessibility checker detects that the empty option text might not be properly recognized or applied.

Here’s how to address this message:

    1. Ensure that the "Show Text in Empty Option" is enabled and the text (e.g., "Please Select") is correctly entered in the dropdown field's properties.
    2. Double-check that the dropdown field has a proper label as accessibility requires all form questions to have labels.
    3. Make sure there are no conflicting settings or themes that might override or hide the empty option text.
    4. Save and refresh your form builder to let the accessibility checker re-scan your form and update the warnings.

If all these are correctly set and the warning still appears, it might be a temporary glitch with the accessibility checker. As long as the empty option text is visible on the live form, your form should be accessible in this regard.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi AvenuGRM,

When I cloned and tested your form, the same thing happened for me. After investigating it a bit, I found a solution. It’s really easy to fix. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, select the Dropdown field and click the Gear icon.
    2. Go to Options tab and scroll to Show Text in Empty Option.
    3. Change the Text into something else and revert to Please Select.
