Podo: Support SpecialistHi Laura,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Regarding your issue with reaching the monthly signed document limit on the free plan, hiding the signature field and using the submit button instead does not unlock your form or reset the limit. The signed document limit is tied to your account's plan and usage, not individual form fields.
To unlock your form and increase your monthly signed document limit, you have two options:
- Wait for the next monthly usage cycle when your signed document limit resets.
- Upgrade your Jotform plan to a paid subscription, which provides higher limits for signed documents and other features.
You can upgrade your plan anytime from the Pricing Page. Upgrading will immediately increase your limits and unlock your form for more submissions with signed documents.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Ronald JotForm SupportHi Luara,
You can still use the signature field by disabling the Jotform Sign Automation. Also, using the Signature Field while the Jotform Sign is disabled will not count towards the 10 Monthly Signed Document limit. It is easy to turn off. Let me show you how:
1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
2. Click on Jotform Sign in the menu on the left side of the page.
3. Toggle off the Enable Jotform Sign Automation option.
Meanwhile, The main difference between a normal signatue field and Jotform Sign is that Jotform Sign is an eSignature tool, which carries more legal weight than just adding a signature field in Jotform forms. We also have a guide here that you can check to learn more about this.
Reach out again if you need any other help.
