Subscription Signup: How to Apply for Non-Profit Status and Avoid Sales Tax

I'm trying to set up a subscription for the non profit I'm working for. When I'm checking out, I'm not being asked for non-profit credentials AND I'm being charged sales tax. Is there somewhere else I need to go for this type of checkout?
