How to Add Form Chatbot?

    Hi,

I see how to add an AI agent to a form to help my clients fill them out. But when I use the published form there is no agent. I assumed that since they were connected it would start up when a user opened that form.

Can you tell me how I set this up so the user automatically sees the agent when they open the form?

I already watched Kim's Youtube video and it didn't address that. Only told how to go through all of the features.

    Many thanks!

    Stace

    Hi Stace,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I bet you're referring to the Form Chatbot. That is found in the Settings in Form Builder. Open the last tab on the left, and then create a form chatbot. Here's a screenshot showing its location:

Instead, the agent is shared directly with responders to guide them through completing the form. Here's a screenshot showing how it works:

No, I'm not referring to Form Chatbot. It's the AI Agent as I mentioned in my initial request. You add it from the Publish tab of an existing report. You can see in the screen shot that the AI agent is associated with a specific form, and your help in Jotform says it can help users fill out the form. Here you can see where it is, and that it's connected to my form.

If this agent I created is connect to my form, I would expect that when as user opens the form to fill it out, the AI Agent will also open with the form as the whole point of it is to help the user fill in the form. When I try it and select "Voice" it actually asks me the form questions and presents the available answers for me to choose from.

Hopefully there is someone on your team who understands this. I'm guessing it's quite new. I can't find any helpful information on how a connected agent works for the filler.

    Thanks

NEVERMIND I think I understand it now. I need to use the published link to the AGENT and not the link to the form. IMHO that's not at all intuitive and you guys should clarify that for customers.

    thanks!

    Hi Stace,

I cloned your form and set up a Form Chatbot within it, but I wasn’t able to replicate the issue you described. Check out my screencast below:

Can you try deleting the current AI Agent from your form and then adding a new one. This refresh often resolves cases where the agent doesn’t show up for users filling out the form. Once re-added, the agent should automatically start when your clients open the published form.

Try that and reach out again if you need more help.

Using an AI agent for form filling can be really helpful if it guides users step by step instead of just presenting a long form all at once. I’ve seen better results when the agent asks simple questions, explains what information is needed, and validates answers before moving on. That approach usually reduces mistakes and incomplete submissions.

    @kyle!

I still can't figure out how to do what you did with my cloned report. I don't know how to set it up so that all it does is read the question and fill in the answer, and I don't know how to make it show up for users when they open that form to fill out.

Is there a step by step I can walk through to do this? Also as noted above I don't have the Form Chatbot option in the Settings for my forms. The last entry I have is Jotform Sign. Do I need to activate or create something to have that option?

    thanks in advance!

    Hi Stace,

We’ve enabled the Form Chatbot in your account, and you should now see it in the form settings. You can add a Form Chatbot to your form in just a few simple steps. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
    2. Next, in the menu on the left side of the page, click on Form Chatbot.
    3. Now, click on Create Form Chatbot, and then customize the Form Chatbot as you want.

    Hi Lesther,

I want a chatbot that will read each question in the form to the user, and when the user responds with voice the chatbot will fill out that question.

This does not do that unless there is some other setting I need to use. It just pops up with greeting message and sits there waiting for someone to type a question. I want a voice interaction where AI reads each question and records each answer. Someone did that above and I can't mimic whatever they did.

    thanks!

    Hi Stace,

I’ve gone ahead and moved your other question to a separate thread to keep things tidy, and someone from our Support Team will help you out with it here.
